2 INCHES OF SNOW YESTERDAY, THE LAST DAY OF MONTH. OVER 11 INCHES FOR THE MONTH, COMPARED TO 8 INCHES LAST JANUARY. LAST FEBRUARY, WE HAD 14 INCHES OF SNOW. IN THE UPPER 20'S TODAY AND IN THE 30'S FOR THE WEEKEND, WITH RAIN AND A HIGH OF 40 ON MONDAY.

ALSO IN SPORTS, 2004 MCHS GRAD ADAM HEPKER REACHED A MILESTONE IN HIS COLLEGE CAREER THIS WEEK. HEPKER, WHO HAS STARTED EVERY GAME IN HIS 4-YEARS AT MID-AMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY, SCORED HIS 2,000 POINT OF HIS CAREER LAST NIGHT WHEN THE PIONEERS WON ON THE ROAD, 92 TO 85, OVER BAKER UNIVERSITY. HEPKER SCORED 33 POINTS IN THAT GAME BUT NEEDED ONLY 18 GOING INTO THE CONTEST TO MOVE INTO THE 2,000 POINT CLUB AT MI
AMERICA WHERE HE IS A 2-TIME ALL-AMERICAN. THE PIONEERS ARE COACHED
BY ROCKY LAMAR AND ASSISTED BY BILL FLEMMING AND ARE 19 AND 3 ON THE SEASON AS THEY GET READY FOR ACTION TOMORROW AT CULVER-STOCKTON IN CANTON, MISSOURI. CONGRATULATIONS ADAM!! ADAM'S PARENTS ARE CINDY AND KMAQ STATION MANAGER LEIGHTON HEPKER. ADAM'S DAD PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL FOR SPRINGVILLE HIGH AND DIDN'T ALWAYS START AND DIDN'T SCORE 2,000 POINTS EITHER.... PROBABLY AROUND 200. IF YOU CAN'T BE A GOOD ATHLETE, SAYS LEIGHTON, BE A GOOD SPORT. LEIGHTON HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD SPORT, EXCEPT WHEN HE YELLS AT THE REFS.
