WINDY AND COOL TODAY.
WEEKEND FORECAST LOOKING VERY NICE.

MAQUOKETA PLAYS HOST TO MT. VERNON TONIGHT. SHOULD BE A GOOD GAME.

RESIDENTS OF MAQUOKETA WHO WANT TO PUT UP POLITICAL SIGNS FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES MAY DO SO AT ANY TIME. MAQUOKETA POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID HIS DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN INSTRUCTED NOT TO ENFORCE THE CITY'S ORDINANCE WHICH PROHIBITS NATIONAL POLITICAL SIGNS IN PRIVATE YARDS 45 DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION OR EVENT. THIS IS THE RESULT OF A COURT DECISION IN 1994 BETWEEN A RESIDENT AND THE CITY OF GLADSTONE, MISSOURI.

A MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE WILL BE RECOMMENDING TO THE ENTIRE COUNCIL THAT THE NEW YMCA BE GIVEN THE USE OF THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CENTER FOR ITS EXERCISE PROGRAMS. THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE FOR ITS USE EITHER.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND.
