A CANVASS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION RESULTED IN A BIGGER MARGIN OF VICTORY FOR
MARTY HUDRLIK OVER DOUG KNICKREHM. IT WENT FROM 6 VOTES TO A 56 VOTE VICTORY FOR HUDRLIK.
THE PRELIMINARY ENROLLMENT FIGURE FOR THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL DISTRICT SHOWS A DECLINE FOR THIS YEAR. TOTAL ENROLLMENT AT ALL BUILDINGS, 1,634...DOWN 42 FROM LAST YEAR.
SUPT. KIM HUCKSTADT SAID A DECLINE OF 50 WAS PROJECTED AND THAT THE DECLINE TRANSLATES INTO LOSING OVER $200,000 IN STATE AID. HUCKSTADT SAID ADJUSTMENTS
HAVE ALREADY BEEN MADE SO THERE SHOULD BE NO MAJOR IMPACT ON THE BUDGET.
