88 TODAY.
NEAR 90 SATURDAY...
AND IN 90'S SUNDAY...
COULD USE SOME RAIN.

MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCILMAN JASON HUTE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT HE EXISTING OUTDOOR POOL IN MAQUOKETA. HE ASKED THAT IT BE ON THE NEXT AGENDA. HE BELIEVES THE CURRENT OUTDOOR POOL SHOULD REMAIN OPEN NEXT YEAR EVEN WHEN THE NEW YMCA INDOOR POOL IS OPENED THIS FALL. HE SAID THERE ARE CHILDREN FROM CAMP SHALOM AND SUNSHINE DAYCARE WHO ARE AT THE POOL NEARY EVERY DAY. AND HE SAID THERE ARE LOTS OF MAQUOKETA KIDS WHO WANT TO BE OUTDOORS WHEN THE WEATHER IS IT HOT, INSTEAD OF USING AN INDOOR POOL.

THE LES BROWN BAND OF RENOWN, DIRECTED BY LES BROWN, JR. WILL DO A CONCERT A WEEK FROM THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 18TH, AT THE OHNWARD FINE ART CENTER'S 850 SEAT THEATRE ON EAST PLATT STREET. TICKETS IN ADVANCE ARE $30. AT THE DOOR THEY WILL BE $35. I BELIEVE THAT IS THE HIGHEST PRICED TICKET EVER FOR AN OHNWARD EVENT.
AND WE LEARNED THIS WEEK THAT DENA MARTIN, DAUGHTER OF THE LATE DEAN MARTIN, WILL BE A GUEST VOCALIST THAT NIGHT. ADVANCE TICKETS ARE ON SALE AT THE OHNWARD BOXOFFICE AND AT OSTERHAUS PHARMACY.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.

DENNIS VOY
