THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL EMPHASIZED THEY WOULD NOT EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR CEEPCO TO MOVE OUT OF ITS BUILDING ON THE CLINTON ENGINES
SITE BY THE END OF THE MONTH. THEY HAVE A CLINTON ENGINES PARTS BUSINESS IN THE FORMER CAFETERIA. THIS WEEK, THE COUNCIL SAID APRIL 30TH IS THE DEADLINE AND IF BILL MAYBERRY AND JOHN MELROY HAVE NOT REMOVED THEIR PARTS BUSINESS, THE CITY WILL BEGIN EVICTION NOTICES.
THE BUILDING AND LAND WAS GIVEN TO THE CITY 5 YEARS AGO AND THE TWO
HAVE CONTINUED OPERATIONS THOSE YEARS FOR $1 A YEAR RENT. THE BUILDING IS IN BAD SHAPE AND PROBABLY SHOULD BE TORN DOWN. A CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM IS BEING STARTED IN THE CLINTON ENGINES OFFICE BUILDING ACROSS THE STREET, A BRICK BUILDING THAT IS NOW OWNED BY THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL BUILDING. IT IS A GOOD BUILDING AND WILL BE AN EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR CLINTON ENGINES HISTORICAL ITEMS.
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.
HAPPY EASTER.
