IT RAINED OVER NIGHT....AND SNOW SHOWERS TODAY....BUT NOT THE INCHES OF SNOW PREDICTED IN MAQUOKETA. NORTH OF US, GOT SNOW. WESTERN DUBUQUE SCHOOL DISTRICT CANCELLED SCHOOL TODAY AND MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS, INCLUDING MAQUOKETA, HAD EARLY OUT TODAY. IN ANY CASE...NOT A GOOD DAY.

MAQUOKETA HAS A NEW POSTMASTER. SARAH MORSE. SHE'S BEEN IN THE DUBUQUE OFFICE FOR TWO YEARS AND LIVES IN BELLEVUE.

"CHICAGO" .. THE LONG, POPULAR ROCK BAND, WILL ENTERTAIN AT THIS YEAR'S JONES COUNTY FAIR AT MONTICELLO.

ANOTHER ACT OF VANDALISM. THREE DOZEN EGGS SMASHED ON THE DRIVEWAY AND HOUSE WINDOW T THE HOME OF BETTY MYATT ON NILES STREET.

ANOTHER DEER ACCIDENT. DAVID HONEYWELL HIT ONE LAST NIGHT, AT THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 67 AND 64. WHILE DRIVING PAST CANTON SUNDAY NIGHT, WE SAW ABOUT 20 DEER UP IN THE WILDWOOD ACRES HOUSING AREA.
IN THAT AREA...THEY DON'T RUN. JUST LOOK UP AND WATCH YOU DRIVE BY.

DID YOU KNOW? THE MAQUOKETA FFA CHAPTER (ESTABLISHED IN 1928)
IS IOWA'S SECOND OLDEST FFA CHAPTER. BY THE WAY, THE ANNUAL FFA BANQUET IS SUNDAY NIGHT, APRIL 22ND, AT THE MCHS GYM. GARY BRUNS, THE MCHS VO-AG TEACHER, IS THE FFA ADVISOR. MAQUOKETA CONTINUES TO HAVE A GOOD CHAPTER, GOOD SIZED, AND AN ACTIVE CHAPTER. ALWAYS BUSY!

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD THURSDAY.
