ELECTION RESULTS:
SUPERVISOR JACK WILLEY RE-ELECTED IN A CLOSE RACE. HE GOT
3,800 VOTES AND PAUL HAHLE, 3,212.
THE NEW SUPERVISOR IS STEVE FLYNN, WHO DEFEATED DARWIN FRANZEN BY 552 VOTES....3,843 TO 3,291.
TREASURER AL TEBBE, JR...RECORDER ARLENE SCHAUF AND COUNTY ATTORNEY PHIL TABOR WERE ALL UNAPPOSED AND ELECTED.
7,465 (51%) WENT TO THE POLES. JACKSON COUNTY VOTERS HELPED ELECT BRUCE BRALEY TO CONGRESS (DEMOCRAT REPLACING REPUBLICAN JIM NUSTLE) AND CHET CULVER, DEMOCRAT, TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE. CULVER'S DAD WAS OUR CONGRESSMAN YEARS AGO, THEN U.S.
SENATOR.
ST. SENATOR ROGER STEWART WAS RE-ELECTED, WINNING 12,061 TO 6,218.
..GETTING 62% OF THE VOTE, TO GAIN HIS SECOND 4-YEAR TERM AS A DEMOCRAT. ST. REP. TOM SCHUELLER, ALSO A DEMOCRAT, WAS RE-ELECTED TO HIS 2ND TWO-YEAR TERM, 6,015 TO 3,703

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL LAST NIGHT HIRED AN ARCHITECT TO DRAW UP PLANS FOR THE ADDITION TO THE FIRE STARTION.
WORK ON THE ESTIMATED 1

1/2 MILLION ADDITION WILL PROBABLY BE STARTED NEXT YEAR.
