WARM THIS MORNING....
STORMY WEATHER AND HEAVY RAIN OVER THE NOON HOUR...
CLOUDY THIS AFTERNOON...
NOW AT 4 P.M. THE SUN IS BACK OUT.

LAST NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASEBALL TEAM PLAYED HOST TO DUBUQUE WAHLERT IN A DISTRICT TOURNAMENT GAME. BRAD COOK
PITCHED THE WHOLE GAME AND ALLOWED ONLY A FEW HITS. THE CARDINALS LED ALL THE WAY, AND WERE AHEAD 2 TO 1 WHEN STARTING THE LAST HALF OF THE 7TH (FINAL) INNING. TWO OUTS QUICKLY.
MAQUOKETA WAS ONE OUT AWAY FROM THE WIN. THEN THE WAHLERT BOYS GOT 2 HITS AND WITH RUNNERS ON 2ND AND 3RD, THEIR PITCHER GOT ANOTHER HIT, DROVE IN 2 RUNS AND DUBUQUE WON 3 TO 2.
GREAT GAME. BAD ENDING. THAT'S BASEBALL.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS PLAY WEST DELAWARE, MANCHESTER, AT 7 TONIGHT AT MANCHESTER. THE GAME WILL BE ON KMAQ-AM-1320.
MANCHESTER, RATED 2ND IN THE STATE, HAS HAD JUST ONE LOSS THIS YEAR....A LOSS TO MAQUOKETA EARLIER THIS MONTH.
GO CARDINALS!

THE WAMAC SOFTBALL COACHES MET IN MARION LAST FRIDAY NIGHT

LUTHERAN INSURANCE AGENT UNTIL RETIREMENT. WE REMEMBER JUST A FEW YEARS AGO, WHEN HE SKY-DIVED AT THE MAQUOKETA AIRPORT. THEY HAVE A HOME IN PHOENIX FOR WINTER LIVING AND IN PELLA, WILL BE NEAR DAUGHTER BARB'S FAMILY. HOPE THEY ENJOY THEIR NEW HOME IN A REALLY NEAT IOWA COMMUNITY....AND I'M SURE JOHN WILL CONTINUE CHECKING THIS REPORT. HIS SON JACK HAS BEEN MY THEATRE MANGER SINCE 1974....EVERYBODY KNOWS JACK.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT.
