A HALF-INCH OF RAIN EARLY THIS MORNING...
AND CLOUDY AND LIGHT RAIN A COUPLE TIMES TODAY AND COOL.
RAIN STILL IN FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND THEN...FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND WEEKEND...NO RAIN AND HOT. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, WE CAN EXPECT MID 90'S WEATHER.

THE MARK WILLEY TRIAL WENT ALL DAY WITH ABOUT 7 WITNESSES.
HIS SISTER, WHO HE HAD THE ENCOUNTER WITH, WAS THE FIRST WITNESS AND TOLD HOW MARK STABBED HER WITH A KNIFE IN THREE PLACES AND HOW SHE THOUGHT SHE WOULD DIE, BUT MANAGED TO CRAWL OUT OF THE HOUSE TO THE SIDEWALK, WHERE SHE WAS BLEEDING WHEN DEPUTY SCHROEDER WAS THE FIRST OFFICER TO ARRIVE. WILLEY ALSO TOOK THE STAND TODAY. SO DID DR. PAUL KOOB AND DAVID STOCKHAM (WHO SAW WILLEY RUN THROUGH AN ALLEY) AND CURT FELDERMAN WHO FOLLOWED WILLEY FROM THE HOME WITH HIS CAR AND AND ALERTED POLICE.
GOOD CHANCE THE TRIAL WILL GO TO THE JURY TOMORROW AND MAYBE THERE COULD BE A VERDICT BEFORE THE DAY IS OVER.

MENS AND WOMENS RESTROOMS AT THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC COMPLEX WERE VANDALIZED OVERNIGHT. PAPER DISPENSERS BROKE OFF THE WALL .....A REPLACEMENT COST OF $567.
TOILET PAPER STUFFED IN THE STOOLS AND SINKS ... AND WATER TURNED-ON AND LEFT RUNNING. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

TWO MEN HAD A FIGHT WITH A THIRD AT 11:30 LAST NIGHT ON SOUTH SECOND STREET. NO SERIOUS INJURIES. THE TWO APPEARED IN COURT AND RELEASED ON $1,950 UNSECURED BOND PENDING COURT ACTION ON JULY 17TH. THE TWO WERE TIM RABINEAU OF ANDREW, AGE 31, AND VICTOR VELEZ, AGE 35, OF MAQUOKETA. THE MAN THEY HIT WAS

IN THE FIRST GAME, MAQUOKETA UPSET WEST DELAWARE 2 TO 1 AND IN GAME 2, THE CARDS LOST 6 TO 1. MAQUOKETA IS NOW 29 AND 11 AND FINISHED 13 AND 7 IN THE WAMAC.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS ALSO PLAYED WEST DELAWARE THERE...AND THE WEST DELAWARE BOYS ARE ALSO RANKED #1. THEY SHUT OUT THE CARDINALS 10 TO 0 IN FIRST GAME AND MAQUOKETA THEN LOST THE SECOND GAME, 5 TO 0. MAQUOKETA IS NOW 9 AND 21 OVERALL AND 5 AND 13 IN THE WAMAC.
