SUNNY AND BREEZY AND NICE TODAY...HIGH OF 84.

RICK DICKENSON LOST IN A CLOSE RACE TO BE THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE IN NOVEMBER FOR CONGRESS......OUTCOME WAS NOT KNOWN UNTIL MIDNIGHT....THAT CLOSE. HE LEAD MOST OF THE NIGHT, BUT LOST WHEN THE FINAL FEW PRECINCTS CAME IN LATE.

PHIL TABOR DEFEATED COUNTY ATTORNEY JOHN KIES BY 160 VOTES...CLOSE RACE TOO. TABOR WAS COUNTY ATTORNEY BEFORE....RESIGNED AND KIES WAS HIS REPLACEMENT.

CHET CULVER (SON OF FORMER SEN. JOHN CULVER) WAS THE DEMOCRATIC WINNER FOR GOVERNOR. HE WILL RUN IN NOVEMBER AGAINST CURRENT CONGRESSMAN JIM NUSTLE.

THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL BASEBALL TEAM BEAT MIDLAND OF WYOMING LAST NIGHT, 12 TO 1.
