CLOUDY AND COOL TODAY...HIGH OF 53...
MAQUOKETA'S EASTER EGG HUNT SPONSORED BY THE MAQUOKETA KIWANIS CLUB IS TOMORROW MORNING AT 9 BEHIND THE SENIOR CITIZEN'S CENTER.
THE NEW ATV CLUB FOR JACKSON COUNTY IS SEEKING APPROVAL TO HAVE A ONE-DAY ATV-CADE ON SUNDAY, JULY 9TH. IT WOULD RUN ON COUNTY ROADS FOR A TOTAL OF ABOUT 40 MILES. CURRENTLY, STATE LAW FORBIDS ATV'S ON ANY TRAVELLED ROADS IN THE STATE. THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS ARE CONSIDERING ALLOWING THE ONE DAY EVENT.
JACK ROSENBERG IS THE SPOKESMAN FOR THE ATV CLUB.
THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WILL GET A NEW PASTOR, WHO WILL BEGIN HIS DUTIES JULY 1ST AND WILL REPLACE PASTOR MEL VALDEZ WHO RESIGNED LATE LAST YEAR. THE NEW PASTOR, WITH 18 YEARS EXPERIENCE, IS JEFF DADISMAN. HE AND HIS WIFE SUSAN HAVE 4 CHILDREN RANGING IN AGE FROM 5 TO 16. THE CHURCH IS ALSO CONSIDERING BUYING OR BUILDING A NEW LARGER PARSONAGE. THE CURRENT ONE OWNED BY THE CONGREGATION AT 430 THOMAS AVENUE APPARENTLY DOES NOT MEET CONFERENCE STANDARDS.
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.
DENNIS VOY
