BETTY TELLEFSON BARWICK, 80, DIED JULY 7TH. IN ATHENS, GEORGIA. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBANDS, DON TELLEFSON AND WILLIAM BARWICK. SHE AND THE TELLEFSON FAMILY LIVED IN MAQUOKETA MANY YEARS AGO. SURVIVORS INCLUDE TWO SONS, TERRY OF ATHENS, GEORGIA AND DEAN OF AURORA, COLORADO AND 8 GRANDCHILDREN.
JIM RANKIN OF THE MAQUOKETA VFW APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPEVISORS THIS WEEK AND ASKED THAT THE COUNTY DESIGNATE OLD HIGH T61 AS "VETERANS HIGHWAY".
CLINTON COUNTY HAS DONE THE SAME FOR HIGHWAY 61. THE SUPERVISORS ARE IN FAVOR OF DOING SO AND SUGGESTED RANKIN TRY TO GET BUSINESS PLACES TO PAY FOR THE NEW SIGNS AND THE COUNTY WOULD PUT THEM UP.
