After a rainy Sunday (13/100 of an inch), today was dry, mostly cloudy and a high in the 30's.

Jackson County Fair Manager Doug Pratt was on the KMAQ "Just Talk" show this morning and told some of the early plans for this year's fair in July. The headliner for Thursday night in front of the grandstand will be
famous country singer, Tracy Byrd. And, there are plans for a different stage, so the show would not have to be cancelled because of rain, like happened last year. Tracy Byrd is definitely a good booking and he whould draw a big Thursday night crowd.

Hugh Bowman, longtime owner-operator of Maquoketa's only full-service gas station, is this week's Maquoketa Rotary Club "Citizen Of The Week". A photo of Hugh and a story about his long career in Maquoketa can been seen on the Rotary Web Site.....www.maquoketa-rotary.org Hugh has not retired, still working over 50 hours a week. Its a good story!
