BEAUTIFUL DAY TODAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 40.
SOMETHING NEW TO TRY: KMAQ HAS A WEB CAM NOW. IT IS CURRENTLY POINTED OUTSIDE THE KMAQ WINDOW AT THE POST OFFICE. DAYTIMES, THE QUALITY IS GOOD BECAUSE OF THE LIGHT. EVENINGS, WITH JUST STREET LIGHTING, THE QUALITY IS NOT TOO GOOD.
THE WEB CAM IS WIRELESS, SO WE WILL BE POINTING IT AT DIFFERENT THINGS.
SOMETIME, I MIGHT EVEN POINT IT AT ME WHEN DOING THIS REPORT. ANOTHER TOY FOR WEB CRUISERS.
WATCH THE KMAQ FRONT PAGE FOR A LINK TO THE CAM.
ANY COMMENTS....ABOUT ANYTHING ON THIS REPORT...PLEASE EMAIL ME AT kmaq@kmaq.com I LIKE EMAIL. BUT YES, I ALSO DISLIKE SPAM.
A COUPLE ACCIDENTS. NO INJURIES. AUDREY SHORT OF MAQUOKETA REPORTED HER CAR STOLEN SATURDAY AND IT WAS LATER CRASHED ON HIGHWAY 136 SATURDAY NIGHT....IT WENT INTO A DITCH AND ROLLED ON ITS TOP. $3,000 DAMAGE AND I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE FOUND THE PERSON THAT TOOK AND CRASHED THE 88 DODGE.
A MURAL HAS BEEN DISCOVERED AFTER TAKING COVER OFF A WALL IN THE COURTHOUSE. NOW THE QUESTION FOR SUPERVISORS...SHOULD IT BE PRESERVED. OR COULD IT BE MOVED? IT IS A PRAIRIE SCENE WITH BUFFALOS AND LOCATED ON THE WALL NEAR THE FORMER MAIN DOOR AT THE COURTHOUSE IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
MORE MAILBOX VADALISM REPORT IN RURAL MAQUOKETA OVER THE WEEKEND.
MAQUOKETA PLAYS MANCHESTER IN BOYS BASKETBALL HERE IN MAQUOKETA TONIGHT.
JOYCE MANNING, 42, OF MAQUOKETA, LOST SIGHT OF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF BLOWING SNOW EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AND HER CAR WENT INTO THE DITCH, CAUSING $2,500 DAMAGE TO HER 87 FORD.
THANKS FOR THE VISIT.
DENNIS VOY
