IT HAS BEEN RAINING ALL AFTERNOON AND WILL RAIN MOST OF THE NIGHT. BUT WEEKEND LOOKING PRETTY GOOD, ESPECIALLY SUNDAY.

GOING TO BE MESSY AT FOOTBALL GAMES FOR THE MAQUOKETA CARDINALS TONIGHT AT VINTON. VARSITY GAME ON KMAQ-AM.

SAW THE CARDINALS WIN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE PENNANT LAST NIGHT AT ST. LOUIS. WOW, WHAT NOISE..WHAT A CELEBRATION.

IN A SPLIT VOTE, THE MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY THIS WEEK APPROVED A LARGE DONATION TO THE ARC. SO, IT IS AN "IF AND WHEN" PLEDGE. BOARD MEMBERS DAVE KNOEBEL AND RON FRANDSEN VOTED AGAINST THE MEASURE AND BOARD MEMBERS BOB GAVEN, MARY LOU RISSER AND KENT SHOUSE VOTED IN FAVOR. GAVIN WAS THE ARC CHAIRMAN AT ONE TIME, BUT IS NOT ON THE ARC BOARD NOW.
THE WIFE OF KENT SHOUSE, MARGO, WAS ON THE ARC BOARD AT ONE TIME, AND MAY STILL BE ON NOW. I'M NOT SURE. MY COMMENT ON THE MATTER. NO COMMENT.
