TWO ANONYMOUS DONATIONS OF $1,000 EACH HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE MT. HOPE CEMETERY FOR
MAINTENANCE WORK.     THE BOARD CAN USE IT,  AS THEY ARE ALWAYS SHORT OF MONEY.

BUSINESS NEWS:  JULIE MOORE HAS OPENED "BIG BEAR ANTIQUES" IN A NEW BUILDING AT 606 EAST PLATT STREET IN MAQUOKETA.   IT  IS ALSO AN ART GALLERY AND OFFERS GIFTS, ART, ANTIQUES AND FLORAL ACCESSORIES.      HER HUSBAND IS KEN MOORE.

THERE ARE 11 CANDIDATES FOR JACKSON COUNTY FAIR QUEEN THIS YEAR.     THE QUEEN WILL BE SELECTED AND ANNOUNCED AT A FREE PROGRAM AT 2 THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN THE PEARSON BUILDING ON THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MAQUOKETA.

BIRTHS:   BOY TO JAMIE AND KELLLIE NABB OF LOWDEN, BORN JULY 9TH AT DAVENPORT HOSPITAL.
GRANDPARENTS ARE CHARLIE AND KATHY EASTERLY OF MAQUOKTA.
GIRL, BORN JULY 11TH AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL TO JAMIE AND MARGARET SCHULZ OF MAQUOKETA.
GRANDPARENTS ARE HERBERT AND BETTY SCHULZ OF MAQUOKETA.
BOY, BORN JULY 15,  ALSO AT JACKSON COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL, TO HOLLY MCNETT AND DAVID STREETS, JR. OF MAQUOKETA.  GRANDMOTHER IS PENNY BAILEY OF MAQUOKETA AND GRANDFATHER IS DAVID STREETS, SR. OF MAQUOKETA.
