STILL ANOTHER GREAT DAY...BUT COOLER.

A BELLEVUE MAN, BRYAN ALLEN, 41, WAS CHARGED AFTER HE KICKED A BELLEVUE POLICE
OFFICER, NATHAN ALBAUGH, IN THE FACE EARLY TODAY. ALBAUGH DID NOT REQUIRE HOSPITAL CARE.

JACKSON COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL BOARD MEMBERS APPROVED AN APPROXIMATE $13-MILLION BUDGET FOR THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR. IT IS A 3 AND 1/2 PERCENT INCREASE AND HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR CURT COLEMAN SAID THE HOSPITAL IS IN GOOD FINANCIAL SHAPE. THE OPEN HOUSE OF NEW BUILDING AND FACILITIES IS IN JUNE AS REPORTED EARLIER AND THIS WEEK, WORKERS HAVE BEEN WORKING ON GETTING THE LAWN RESEEDED AND LANDSCAPED.

THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD HAS APPROVED SALARY INCREASES OF 3.3 PERCENT....WITH THE BASE PAY GOING UP $275, FROM $22,680 TO $22,956. TEACHER SALARIES ARE A PERCENTAGE OF THE BASE PAY. NO CHANGE IN HEALTH INSURANCE AND OTHER EMPLOYEES, OTHER THAN TEACHERS, ALSO WERE GIVEN A RAISE.

BOB WHITE JUST STOPPED IN TO SAY HELLO. YEARS AGO, HE WAS THE MEAT MANAGER OF THE FAREWAY STORE HERE IN TOWN, UNTIL 1979. THEN, HE AND SONS BUILDT THEIR OWN MEAT MARKET SOUTH OF TOWN, CALLED WHITE'S MEATS. THEY OPERATED THAT INTO THE 80'S.
THE BUILDING IS NOW WHERE DAGUE EQUIPMENT IS. BOB'S WIFE, PHYLLIS, DIED SUDDENLY AT HOME ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO AND HE HAS REMARRIED AND HE AND WANDA LIVE IN AMES. THEY BOTH ARE ON THE ROAD ABOUT 8 MONTHS A YEAR, GOING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY DOING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THE SHRINERS. HE LOOKS GOOD...IS 74. HAS 4 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SON FRED IS A CHIROPRACTOR IN METROPOLIS, ILLINOIS...BOYHOOD HOME OF SUPERMAN. JIM AND ZOE LIVE IN CRETE, NEBRASKA. HE IS THE PRODUCTION MANAGER AT BUNGE MILLS CORN AND WHEAT PROCESSING COMPANY. MARK AND DEB LIVE IN MOLINE AND HE WORKS FOR GENESIS HOSPITAL. BOB READS THIS REPORT QUITE REGULARLY. GLAD I ALSO JUST GOT TO MEET WANDA.
