WEDNESDAY DAILY

LITTLE BEAR PARK
IS ONE OF THE FINEST COMMUNITY PARKS IN IOWA.
WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE IT.
THAT'S A NEW SIGN.

"FEED THE NEED"
MAQUOKETA'S COMMUNITY CUPBOARD BUILDING ON WEST PLATT, FORMERLY
MOVIES AMERICA.    IT IS CITY OWNED AND MANAGED BY THE MAQUOKETA
MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION.    ENOUGH MONEY HAS BEEN RAISED TO BUY IT,
AND REMODEL  IT.       WHEN THE GOAL IS MET, IT WILL THEN HAVE AN ESCROW
FUND FOR EMERGENCY EXPENSES.    IT IS OPEN TO ANYONE IN NEED OF FOOD
EVERY FRIDAY MORNING.   NO QUESTIONS ASKED.   VOLUNTEERS STAFF IT.
PROBABLY FEW COMMUNITIES HAVE THEIR OWN BUILDING FOR THEIR CUPBOARD.
CASH OR NON-PARISHABLE FOOD STILL NEEDS TO BE DONATED AS IN THE PAST.
PASTER JEFF OF THE METHODIST CHURCH DID A LOT OF WORK TO GET THIS
BUILDING FOR THE CITY, AND DID MUCH WORK GETTING IT READY TO OPEN.
THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IS HOSTING A "COME AND SEE" HOTDOG OPEN
HOUSE ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD FROM 11 A.M. UNTIL 1 P.M.    PUT IT ON
YOUR CALENDAR.

THIS OUTFIT WAS PARKED WHEN I CAME TO WORK EARLY MONDAY MORNING.
IT WAS THERE MOST OF SUNDAY NIGHT AND UNTIL ABOUT NOON MONDAY.  WHAT
A RIG!    $MILLION MAYBE?    THE DIESEL ENGINE WAS NEVER TURNED OFF,  AND I
SUPPOSE THE DRIVER SLEPT IN IT AND THE OWNERS AT THE HOTEL.   NO IDEA
WHO THEY WERE.    PROBABLY A CAR IN THE TRAILER?
BY THE WAY, HAVE YOU HAD LUNCH OR DINNER LATELY AT THE DECKER?   IT CONTINUES TO NEED BACKING BY MAQUOKETA AREA CITIZENS.
WE WOULD HATE   NOT TO HAVE   THIS 1875 FIFTEEN ROOM
HOTEL, RESTAURANT AND BASEMENT BAR.   BEAUTIFUL REASONABLE-PRICED
ROOMS AND DELICIOUS FOOD.    I THINK ONLY PLACE IN TOWN WHERE YOU CAN GET PRIME RIB...OR A HAMBURGER.     MANY PEOPLE DON'T GO BECAUSE THE THINK IT IS TOO NICE FOR THEM.   IT IS NICE ALRIGHT, BUT ALL ARE WELCOME, AND WILL FEEL AT HOME IN A SUIT,  DRESS, AND YES... JEANS.    VISIT AS YOU ARE.
YES...I ALWAYS GIVE IT AN EXTRA GOOD WORD OR TWO....
IT IS MY NEIGHBOR!   MANY GREAT PLACES TO EAT IN MAQUOKETA, AND
WE FREQUENT THEM ALL....BUT THE DECKER WILL ALWAYS BE A LITTLE SPECIAL.      THE SUNDAY BUFFET BREAKFAST......YES ALSO SPECIAL.
IF  YOU HAVE TIME, LORRAINE ENO ... USING THE WINDING STAIRWAYS OR MODERN
ELEVATOR, WILL GIVE YOU A TOUR OF ALL 3 STORIES.   YES, THERE'S A NEW
GIFT SHOPPE TOO.    SURE THERE IS A HANDICAPPED ENTRY OFF MAIN STREET...
NO STEPS.    PASS THE WORD ABOUT THE DECKER, PLEASE!    WE ARE FORTUNATE
TO HAVE IT.

MAQUOKETA HOSTS MT. VERNON FRIDAY NIGHT.
GAME ON KMAQ IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT.

VOLLEYBALL LAST NIGHT, CENTRAL DEWITT 3, MAQUOKETA 0.

CROSS COUNTRY LAST NIGHT.....NORTH SCOTT INVITATIONAL...
BOTH CARDINAL BOYS AND GIRLS HAD BAD NIGHT
AND FINISHED LAST.
ADDISON MICHEL HAD BEST TIME FOR THE GIRLS.
TYLER MEYERES HAD BEST TIME FOR THE CARDINAL BOYS.
