THURSDAY DAILY

THE "FACADE" PROGRAM IS UNDERWAY IN MAQUOKETA, BIG TIME.
THE FORMER "TIMBER CITY SHIRT WORKS" BUILDING WAS THE
FIRST.   THE NEW FRONT IS LOOKING GOOD.   I HAVE HAD
PHOTOS OF IT BEFORE AND WILL HAVE UPDATES.
ABOVE....WORK ON THESE TWO FRONTS JUST STARTED.    THE ONE ACCROSS
THE STREET FROM KMAQ, A BUILDNG OWNED BY BRAD DEERY AND
TODAY, THE ONE ACROSS FROM THE THEATRE, HOME OF "BOB'S BARBER SHOP" AND NEXT DOOR THE BEAUTY AND GIFT SHOP.   THIS BUILDING IS OWNED BY
THE DEWITT MAN WHO THIS PAST YEAR, DID  HIS ONN "FACADE"
PROGRAM JUST NORTH OF THE BARBER SHOPF.
ALSO TODAY, THEY STARTED WORKING ON "NISSAN INSURANCE"
AROUND THE CORNER FROM MAIN STREET ON WEST PLATT.
THE PROGRAM, WHICH INCLUDES OWNER, LOCAL AND GRANT FUNDS
WILL REALLY ENHANCE DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.    DOWNTOWN
IMPROVEMENTS BEGAN 3 YEARS AGO WITH THE $4 MILLION DOLLAR
3 BLOCKS OF MAIN STREET PAVING AND NEW CURB AND  SIDEWALKS.
PLUS, THE NEW FRONT AT THE  THE FORMER OSTERHAUS PHARMACY BUILDING NOW HOME OF THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND
MAQUOKETA ART EXPERIENCE.

JAKE AND JUDY BICKFORD GOT TWO "PAT COSTELLO PAINTING PUZZLES" FOR
CHRISTMAS.   THEY DECIDED THESE DAYS OF LITTLE GOING ON, WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO PUT THEM TOGETHER.    AS ALWAYS, THE OUTER PIECES WERE EASY TO
FIND AND GET STARTED WITH.   THEN, MORE  SO THAN NORMAL, THE SMALL INTERIOR PIECES, AROUND 700 OR MORE, MADE THE FUN HARDER.   BUT YESTERDAY, THEY FINISHED BOTH ABOVE.    COLORFUL AND NICE.    CLICK-ON THEM TO ENLARGE THEM.
PAT COSTELLO BY THE WAY AND WIFE JOAN  LIVE IN ARIZONA FOR HEALTH REASONS AND THEIR GALLERY THEY WERE FAMOUS FOR,  WITH THE OLD MILL, IS NOW AN EVENT CENTER.   GREAT PLACE TO HAVE AN INDOOR OR OUTDOOR WEDDING.
