SUNNY THIS MORNING...A LITTLE BREEZY...HIGH 77 EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN THE CLOUDS ARRIVED, THE TEMPERATURE STARTING DROPPING A LITTLE, AND WE ARE UNDER A TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 8 TONIGHT.
TOMORROW, RAIN...ALSO SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND THE EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD.    LITTLE OR NO RAIN STARTING
SATURDAY AND NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

AT THE HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING LAST NIGHT, MEMBERS HEARD THE ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS SYSTEM IS NEARLY COMPLETE.
IT IS REQUIRED BY THE GOVERNMENT AS PART OF THE HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL.     IT IS DESIGNED TO MAKE RECORD KEEPING EASIER TO PATIENTS WILL HAVE ONE ACCOUNT THAT YOUR DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS
WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS WHEN NECESSARY.     IT SHOULD ALSO ELIMINATE MULTIPLE TESTS FROM DIFFERENT DOCTORS.      A TRAINING SESSION
IS COMING FOR LOCAL STAFF AND THERE WILL ALSO BE NEW BILLING SOFTWARE  INCLUDED IN THE NEW SYSTEM.   LOCAL DOCTORS OFFICES ARE EXPECTED TO JOIN THIS NEW SYSTEM.
ALSO AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL, A NEW PHONE SYSTEM IS BEING INSTALLED.

JACKSON COUNTY  CONSERVATION ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT SPRUCE CREEK PARK, NORTH OF BELLEVUE, WILL CLOSE TOMORROW BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER AGAIN ON THE MISSISSIPPI.      IT IS EXPECTED THE RIVER
WILL CREST THIS SUNDAY.   THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS SEASON THAT THE PARK HAS BEEN CLOSED BECAUSE OF HIGH MISSISSIPPI WATER.

PROGRESS IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.   WORKERS ARE PAVING THE
PARKING LOT AROUND (ON THE SOUTH, TOP PHOTO AND NORTH
SIDE, BOTTOM PHOTO) OF THE PERXACTLY BAR AND GRILL.   WILL BE A NICE IMPROVEMENT.   CLICK-ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE  THEM.

THE PRESTON FIREMEN'S CELEBRATION....PARADE, CARNIVAL, MUSIC,
FOOD, GAMES....THIS  FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.    THE KICK-OFF PARADE IS
AT 6:30 FRIDAY NIGHT.

THE MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARMENT ANNUAL BREAKFAST IS THIS
SUNDAY AT THE FIRE STATION.
