THE IOWA ARTS COUNCIL IS SPONSORING A "MEET THE ARTISTS" SERIES AT QUITE A FEW CITIES IN IOWA AND IT WILL END UP IN MAQUOKETA AT MAQUOKETA ART
EXPERIENCE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 13TH.   MARK IT ON YOUR CALENDAR.
THESE  FIVE ARTISTS WILL BE IN MAQUOKETA, PRESENTING FIVE DIFFERENT
ART FEATURES.     NO CHARGE, BUT DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED.
ANY QUESTIONS,  STOP IN A M-A-E  AND TALK TO MANAGER NANCY KILBURG OR
GIVE HER A CALL.


BIG GAME TONIGHT FOR THE MAQUOKETA CARDINALS IN BOYS TOURNAMENT PLAY
AT CEDAR RAPIDS.     THE CARDS AGAINST THE MARION INDIANS.    THE TWO TEAMS
HAVE PLAYED EACH OTHER TWICE THIS SEASON.   EARLY IN SEASON HERE,
THE CARDS WON BY ABOUT 20 POINTS AND EARLIER THIS MONTH AT MARION,
MARION WON BY 6 POINTS.
THE WINNER TONIGHT GOES TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT.
MAQUOKETA LAST PLAYED IN A STATE TOURNAMENT GAME 32 YEARS AGO.
PLAYED PERRY AND LOST.
THE CARDS THIS YEAR WERE WAMAC CHAMPS, FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS.
IT HAS BEEN 16 YEARS SINCE THE CARDINALS GOT TO A SUB-STATE GAME.

WE HAD 6 INCHES OF SNOW OVER THE WEEKEND.
TODAY SUNNY.
4 MORE INCHES COMING BY MID-WEEK.

NOTHING NEW ON HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING TOURNAMENT YET.   IT IS
TODAY AND TOMORROW AT  WATERLOO.   WILL HAVE SOMETHING
TOMORROW.

ADULT BOWLING...DOUG SCHNOOR ROLLED A 300 LAST NIGHT NIGHT IN
THE MEN'S LEAGUE AT TIMBER LANES.





THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DID A VALENTINE SURVEY ON THE 14 REASONS WE LOVE MAQUOKETA.     NATURALLY I WAS HAPPY MY 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE AND KMAQ MADE THE LIST.    FOR ALL 14, GO TO THE CHAMBER WEB SITE.



AT 8  P.M. TONIGHT, HERE IN MAQUOKETA, THE  CARDINAL BOYS PLAY THEIR FIRST TOURNAMENT GAME AGAINST INDEPENDENCE.    BEFORE,  IN THE 6 P.M. GAME,  DEWITT PLAY SOLON.   BOTH GAMES ON KMAQ AND THE WEB SITE.   OUR STREAMING IS ON AND WITH IMPROVED QUALITY, SO LISTEN TONIGHT.     THE WINNERS TONIGHT PLAY AGAINST EACH OTHER THURSDAY NIGHT.

INDIVIDUALS, AUSTIN DAVISON AND KYLER BEIDLER.

SINCE NOVEMBER.    HAS SON, AGE 20 AND 2 TEENAGE DAUGHTERS AND WANTED TO WORK IN SMALLER TOWN.   SHE IS THE JACKSON COUNTY HEALTH
ADMINISTRATOR.    
SHE GAVE THE PROGRAM AT ROTARY TODAY.

THE 3 WRESTLERS FROM MAQUOKETA WRESTLE IN DISTRICT TOMORROW
NOON AT DEWITT WITH HOPE OF ADVANCING TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT.

FRIDAY NIGHT, THE CARDINAL BOYS BEAT CLEAR CREEK AMANA 60 TO 46 FOR THEIR 15TH WIN AGAINST 1 LOSS.    THEY PLAY AT DYERSVILLE BECKMAN
TONIGHT.   NOT ON KMAQ.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS ALSO DEFEATED CLEAR CREEK FRIDAY NIGHT 76 TO 56 FOR THEIR 11TH WIN.   THEY HOST WEST DELAWARE TONIGHT.   NOT ON KMAQ.
TOMORROW NIGHT, THE GIRLS PLAY AT SOLON....AN EARLY VARSITY GAME
AT 6 AND ON KMAQ.

IN SECTIONAL WRESTLING SATURDAY AT DAVENPORT,   THREE CARDINAL
WRESTLERS WON AND WILL NOW WRESTLE IN THE DISTRICT THIS SATURDAY.
THEY ARE:   ABE MICHEL AT 182 POUNDS....LIAM AUNAN AT 195....AND TAVIN
RICH AT 285.   THERE WERE SIX  3-A TEAMS THERE AND THE CARDINALS
FINISHED 6TH AS A TEAM.







THE REMODELING-REDECORATING OF MAQUOKETA STATE BANK IS GETTING
CLOSE TO BEING DONE.   THEY ARE NOW IN THE  LOBBY AND TELLERS
AREA, WHERE THERE WERE 4 WINDOWS TO SERVE YOU.   TWO TEMPORARY
WINDOWS ARE ELSEWHERE AND THE PHOTOS BELOW SHOW THE EXTENSIVE
WORK BEING DONE THE TELLER AREA.
