 COVID 19 CASES HAVE SLOWED TO ABOUT 1  A  DAY.



CONSTRUCTION ON WEST PLATT IS GOING WELL WITH DETOURS.     A  NEW 4-WAY STOP AT  SOUTH MAIN AND SUMMIT STREET (BY BOWMAN GAS STATION)  IS HELPING, BUT THERE STILL WERE 2 ACCIDENTS THERE THIS WEEK.



THE LT. GOV. OF IOWA,  ADAM GREGG,  CAME WITH FAMILY FRIDAY TO VISIT THE MAQUOKETA CAVES STATE PARK AND STOPPED AT KMAQ.      I DID AN INTERVIEW WITH HIM AT 4:30.     NICE GUY....THINK WE WILL BE HEARING MORE ABOUT HIM  IN THE FUTURE.




THESE TWO MOVIES SHOWING NOW AT 61.      THEY WILL BE HELD OVER FOR  A  2ND WEEK,  STARTING JUNE 4TH...ONLY DURING THAT WEEK,  "RAVE" WILL THE  FIRST MOVIE AND  "CRUELLA" WILL BE THE 2ND MOVIE.    TWO GREAT DISNEY MOVIES.


THE NEW BAR AT  "OFFSHORE"  RESTAURANT IN BELLEVUE.     WHERE OLD BAR WAS LOCATED, THERE ARE MORE DINING TABLES OVERLOOKING THE  RIVER.    GOOD MOVE.

"RIVER RIDGE BREWING" MOVED DOWN ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.    ANOTHER GOOD MOVE.




THE EVENT  BARN JUST SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA ON OLD HIWAY 61.    THIS WAS
A CHURCH SERVICE LAST SUMMER BY FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA AND THE CHURCH ANNOUNCED THIS WEEK THAT THERE WILL BE 3 MORE THERE THIS
SUMMER, STARTING SATURDAY, JUNE 5TH.   ALL WELCOME. 
THEY DON'T HAVE  THE NAME ON THE BARN SO I CAN'T THINK OF NAME NOW.

TODAY IS GRADUATION DAY FOR MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS.



 THIS PAST THURSDAY, MAY 20TH, THE MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST CLUB HELD IT'S ANNUAL "RESPECT FOR THE LAW" BANQUET AT THE EAGLES CLUB.   THIS YEAR APPRECIATION PLAQUES WERE PRESENTED TO RETIREES FROM THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.      SHERIFF RUSS KETTMAN.   DEPUTY STEVE SCHROEDER AND RANDY MANNING.   ALSO ROSIE SCHWAGER  WHO  HAD WORKED  FOR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT BEFORE MOVING TO THE JACKSON COUNTY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE.    GUEST SPEAKERS WERE  SHERIFF BRENT KILBURG,   KAREN WELLS AND COUNTY ATTORNEY SARA DAVENPORT RIORDAN.

Good turn out Friday at vacination event at the fairgrounds organized by Osterhaus Pharmacy.





Not sure I put this up before...new home of this church next the the cleaners.

TOLD IT WILL FEATURE PIZZA AND MORE.   THE
COUNTER IS OF COPPER.

FROM PRESTON.   THEN WILL BE
NO MORE VACANCIES IN THE BUILDING
THAT IS OWNED BY A COUPLE FROM DUBUQUE.




NEW FRONT FOR THIS BUILDING NOW.     IT IS OWNED BY A PERSON IN
CEDAR RAPIDS.    NO BUSINESS IN THERE FOR 15 YEARS.    IN UPPER
RIGHT HAND CORNER, THERE WAS ONCE AN OFFICE FOR A RADIO STATION...
