SATURDAY MORNING AT THE CAVES STATE PARK

SANDY GERLACH, PRESIDENT OF THE FRIENDS OF THE CAVES STATE PARK
WHO SPONSORED THIS ANNUAL EVENT THIS MORNING.
PATSY BIEDLER WAS AT THE BREAKFAST IN HER CARDINAL SHIRT.
 THE FRIENDS OF THE PARK WITH THE PARK RANGER AND SMOKEY.
THE PEN PRESENTED TO JO ANN CAVEN WAS USED BY THE GOVERNOR
TO SIGN A LAW ALLOWING STATE PARKS TO SELL MERCHANDISE IN THEIR GIFT SHOP WITHOUT HAVING LIABILITY INSURANCE.      ST. REP. BRIAN
MOORE WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING THE LAW PASSED.    HE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE THERE TODAY AND  SENT THE PEN WITH SON BRANDON AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS IN PHOTO.   JO ANN'S  FATHER, PAUL SAGERS
WAS ONE OF THE GREAT BOOSTERS OF THE STATE PARK.   HE WOULD HAVE ENJOYED BEING WITH EVERYONE TODAY.   THE  INTERPRETIVE CENTER AT
THE ENTRANCE TO THE PARK (WHERE PEN WILL BE KEPT) WAS ORIGINALLY
THE PAUL SAGERS MUSEUM.

A FISHERMAN TELLING THE KIDS ABOUT .... FISH!     GREAT WEATHER MADE FOR A GREAT DAY AT THE MAQUOKETA CAVES STATE PARK, THE BEST STATE
PARK IN IOWA.    VISIT IT OFTEN THIS SPRING AND SUMMER....TAKE FRIENDS
WITH YOU....HAVE A FAMILY PICNIC THERE....TOUR THE CAVES....AND MOST IMPORTANT....TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT.
