THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

AGAIN TODAY, RAIN AND COOL.   TOMORROW, SUNSHINE RETURNS.
MORE RAIN ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

ANOTHER UPDATE MEETING THIS MORNING AT CITY HALL ON THE DOWNTOWN PROJECT.
HIGHLIGHTS:
WORK ON QUARRY AT A STANDSTILL WHILE WAITING FOR BLACK HILLS
ENERGY TO WRAP-UP GAS LINES.
PARTS OF WEST QUARRY ARE BEING PREPARED FOR PAVING.
THERE IS NOW A  U-TURN FOR POST OFFICE TRAFFIC FLOW.
JAMES STREET, BETWEEN HOTEL AND POST OFFICE, WILL SOON SEE
WORKER PREPARING IT FOR PAVING AND WHILE THE PAVING IS
DONE ON THAT SHORT STREET, THE POST OFFICE DROP BOX WILL BE
MOVED AGAIN AND ACCESS TO THE POST OFFICE WILL BE BY THE
CITY ALLEY.
THE BUSY MAIN AND PLATT INTERSECTION WILL BE CLOSED STARTING MONDAY BUT ACCESS TO ALL BUSINESS PLACES WILL BE PROVIDED WITH ACCESS TO SOUTH MAIN.   THE ACCESS TO BE OFF OF PLEASANT STREET.

KMAQ HAS BEEN ACROSS FROM THE DECKER  HOTEL SINCE 1970.
I'VE WALKED ACROSS THE STREET THOUSANDS OF TIMES TO VISIT
THE DECKER RESTAURANT.   TODAY, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER
45 YEARS, I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE DECKER FOR LUNCH.   NO PAVEMENT AND IT WAS TOO MUDDY TO WALK ACROSS.    HERE WAS THE SCENE AT NOON
LOOKING FROM THE KMAQ FRONT DOOR TO THE DECKER FRONT DOOR....
IT WAS A VERY GOOD LUNCH AND THERE WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE DINING
THERE OVER THE NOON HOUR.
GOOD TO SEE!

SUPPORT THE DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS WHILE THE CONSTRUCTION WORK
IS MAKING IT SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO GET TO A PLACE.   BUT NOT
IMPOSSIBLE.
