VERY FOGGY THIS MORNING AND IT DIDN'T LIFT UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON.
NOW SUN IS SHINING. SCHOOL START WAS DELAYED 2 HOURS THIS
MORNING. OUR HIGH TODAY 40 AND SUNNY..... AND 44 TOMORROW, SAYS
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CUPBOARD WILL BE MOVING INTO A NEW RENOVATED BUILDING THIS WEEKEND....IN THE FORMER ALDI'S FOOD
STORE ON WEST PLATT STREET. THE BUILDING NOW OWNED BY DAC.
GARY EGGERS, THE CUPBOARD MANAGER SAID HE HAS VOLUNTEERS
LINED UP TO HELP MAKE THE MOVE FROM THE BASEMENT OF THE
METHODIST CHURCH. THE NEW LOCATION WILL BE 3 TO 4 TIMES
LARGER AND WILL OPEN FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH. EGGERS AID
DAC....WHICH WILL HAVE OFFICES IN HALF THE BUILDING....WILL NOT BE CHARGING RENT FOR THE CUPBOARD, BUT THE CUPBOARD WILL PAY
IT'S UTILITY BILLS. THEY WILL DO FUND-RAISING TO PAY THE
ELECTRIC AND HEAT BILLS. EGGERS SAID THE NEW LOCATION WILL OFFER EASIER ACCESS FOR CLIENTS BECAUSE THERE IS NO STAIRWAY OR ELEVATOR.
AND EGGERS SAID THEY ALWAYS CAN USE MORE MONEY OR CANNED GOODS.

MAQUOKETA, OR YOU CAN BRING CANNED GOODS TO THEIR NEW
LOCATION.

MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL TONIGHT...
MAKE-UP GAMES....THE GIRLS HOSTING BENTON COMMUNITY AND
THE BOYS PLAY AT VAN HORNE AGAINST BENTON COMMUNITY.
VARSITY GAMES AT BOTH LOCATIONS AT 6:30....EARLY BECAUSE OF THE
TRAVEL DISTANCE. IF YOU CAN'T GET TO VAN HORNE, MATT CLARK
WILL HAVE THE BOYS GAME ON KMAQ-FM AND OUR INTERNET SITE
AT 6:25 TONIGHT.
TOMORROW NIGHT, MATT WILL BROADCAST THE MAQUOKETA BOYS AT SOLON GAME, ALSO A WAMAC CONFERENCE GAME...AT 7:30.
AND SPEAKING OF MATT, THERE IS A PICTURE OF MATT AND KELSIE
THOMPSON IN YESTERDAY'S MAQUOKETA SENTINEL-PRESS. THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED MAY 26TH, AT THE CEDAR RAPIDS COMMUNITY CHURCH.
PARENTS ARE GREG AND SHERIE THOMPSON OF CEDAR RAPIDS AND
DAVID AND LISA CLARK OF MAQUOKETA. KELSIE IS A GRADUATE OF
LINN MAR HIGH SCHOOL IN MARION AND KIRKWOOD COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
SHE IS THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR FOR SHERMCO IN MARION.
MATT IS A GRADUATE OF MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL AND IOWA
STATE UNIVERSITY. WHEN HE'S NOT BROADCASTING BALL GAMES ON KMAQ,
HE IS A SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN WITH ROCKWELL COLLINS IN CEDAR RAPIDS.
KELSIE AND MATT, WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE BIG DAY!
