WEDNESDAY DAILY REPORT

CLOUDY TODAY AND 40.
RAIN TONIGHT.

CLOUDY AND UPPER 30'S FRIDAY.

LEE CARABIN, WHO HAS BEEN DEPUTY ASSESSOR FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS, WILL BE TAKING THE POSITION OF ASSESSOR FOR JACKSON COUNTY.
THIS PAST YEAR, CARABIN HAS BEEN A FIELD APPRAISER INSPECTING AND ASSESSING PROPERTY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.   SHE SAID SHE
HAS DONE MUCH OUTDOOR WORK AND HOME INSPECTIONS AND THAT SHE
INTENDS TO STILL DO FIELD WORK AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY SHORT-STAFFED.       THE JACKSON COUNTY ASSESSOR'S OFFICE CURRENTLY HAS ONE EMPLOYEE WHO HAS BEEN OUT ON SICK LEAVE FOR 3 MONTHS AND WILL RETURN PART-TIME, A NEW FIELD PERSON, AND KARABIN'S FORMER POSITION, NOW VACATED.     SHE WAS APPOINTED TO HER NEW POSITION
MONDAY AT THE JACKSON COUNTY CONFERENCE BOARD MEETING.   SHE
WAS THE LONE APPLICANT FOR THIS POSITION AND WILL NOW BE FILLING
TWO VACANCIES.   THE FIRST WILL BE UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST AND THE SECOND VACANCY WILL BE FOR THE FULL 6-YEAR TERM.    ALSO  AT
THE CONFERENCE BOARD MEETING THE BOARD ACCEPTED THE RESIGNATION LETTERS OF THE 3 EXAMINING BOARD MEMBERS AND AGREED TO SEND A LETTER OF GRATITUDE TO EACH FOR THEIR WORK.

THE VOY THEATRE WILL BE OPEN TONIGHT AS USUAL.
AND A REMINDER THAT WEDNESDAY NIGHT IS FREE POPCORN NIGHT.
THE THEATRE WILL BE OPEN ALSO AT 7 THANKSGIVING NIGHT, BUT
NOT IN THE AFTERNOON.
SHOWING NOW, "THE GOOD DINOSAUR" RATED PG....AND "THE HUNGER GAMES:  MOCKINGJAY-PART 2" RATED PG13.  
2 P.M. SHOWS FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AT BARGAIN ADMISSION.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRL'S BASKETBALL TEAM OPENED THE SEASON LAST NIGHT AT HOME AND LOST TO BENTON COMMUNITY 34 TO 32.
CATIA ATIENZA SCORED 10 POINTS.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS OPEN THE SEASON AGAINST MARION TUESDAY
NIGHT.

THE HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING TEAM STARTED OFF THE SEASON YESTERDAY AT TIMBER LANES, HOSTING WESTERN DUBUQUE.
THE BOYS WON 3188 TO 2757
DEVON EHLERS HAS BEST TWO-GAME SCORE FOR THE CARDINALS, 457
THE GIRLS LOST 2483 TO 2000.
SABRIE GREGORY HAD A 186.
