FRIDAY DAILY REPORT

LAST NIGHT, 7 ABOVE FOR AN OVERNIGHT LOW.
AFTER TODAY'S HIGH OF16,
WE ARE GOING DOWN TO 1 BELOW TONIGHT.
AND SUNDAY, WE WILL SEE AN INCH OF SNOW.
THE FIRST DAY OF WINTER IS TWO WEEKS AWAY!

THE CITY COUNCIL VOTED TO HIRE "CONFLUENCE COMPANY" OF IOWA CITY, RUN BY MAQUOKETA NATIVE BRIAN CLARK, TO COME UP WITH IDEAS AND DRAWINGS FOR A "STREETSCAPE" FOR DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
THE COST TO THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT FIRM WILL BE A MAXIMUM
OF $16,000.       I'VE BEEN TOLD CLARK'S FIRM DOES EXCELLENT WORK.

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD WILL INTERVIEW 3 FIRMS ON DECEMBER 18TH, THAT ARE SPECIALISTS A HELPING SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT
NEED TO HIRE A NEW SUPERINTENDANT.    SUPT. DR. KIM HUCKSTADT
IS LEAVING HIS POSITION JUNE 30TH.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH THE THEFT
OF A VEHICLE IN MAQUOKETA WEDNESDAY.  THEY ARE BRANDON
BODENHOFER OF MAQUOKETA, AGE 32 AND TIFFANY STOCK, AGE 28,
OF DAVENPORT.     THEY TOOK A VEHICLE FROM A GARAGE WITHOUT PERMISSION AND THEY ALSO WERE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA.    BOTH ARE IN JAIL.

TWO VEHICLES COLLIDED AT THE ENTRANCE TO HAPPY JOE'S PIZZA
OFF MYATT DRIVE ON WEDNESDAY.         ROBERT EVERDING, 68, OF
MAQUOKETA WAS STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC AND MARILYN RANKIN, AGE 87,
WAS ENTERING THE PIZZA DRIVE WAY AND HIT THE EVERDING VEHICLE.
EACH CAR RECEIVED ABOUT $2,000 IN DAMAGES.   NO INJURIES AND
NO CHARGES FILED.
