THE PPP CELEBRATION LAST SATURDAY NIGHT AT OHNWARD FINE ARTS
WAS VERY NICE.    AROUND 150 ATTENDED.    DURING THE  FIRST HOUR, EVERYONE LOOKED ON AT THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLES AND "PROGRAMS" FROM ALL 74 PRODUCTIONS SINCE 1966.
FROM 7 UNTIL 8, EVERYONE ENJOYED A GREAT MUSICAL REVUE OF THE 50 YEARS, BY ABOUT A DOZEN PPP MEMBERS, OF THE PAST AND PRESENT.   THE SHOW WAS PRODUCED AND DIRECTED BY JOHN AND JANET BURROW.
THE GROUP GOT A STANDING OVATION.
KAREN AND DEAN TILTON WERE THERE.    KAREN (WHO WITH FELLOW
TEACHER CHARLES RAILSBACK) HAD THE IDEA FOR A LITTLE THEATRE GROUP FOR MAQUOKETA AND ARRANGED FOR THE FIRST MEETINGS TO
ORGANIZE IT.      SHE WAS PRESENTED WITH FLOWERS.   CHARLES WAS NOT
ABLE TO ATTEND.    THE TILTONS LIVE IN THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA.
THE EVENING CONCLUDED WITH SNACKS AND ANNIVERSARY CAKE IN THE
OHNWARD LOBBY.

LAST NIGHT, NANCY AND I AND THE TILTONS WENT OUT TO THE BARNSTORMERS BARN THEATRE ABOUT 5 MILES NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA ON THE CODFISH HOLLOW ROAD.    GOT THERE SHORTLY AFTER 6 AND THE PEOPLE WERE STARTING TO ARRIVE.  THEY FIRST PARKED
ON A HILL PASTURE AND THEN TOOK THE ONLY WAY TO THE BARN, ON
A  FARM WAGON WITH SEATS, PULLED BY A JOHN DEERE TRACTOR.   ONCE
YOU GET DOWN THERE, PLENTY TO SEE AND FOOD AND BEVERAGES IF
YOU DON'T BRING SOME ALONG.    AND BY SHOWTIME, THERE WERE
AROUND 300 TO SEE THE FIRST NUMBER AT 7:30.    TWO BANDS LAST NIGHT... THE MOUNTAIN GOATS AND (ON STAGE ABOVE) THE OPENING BAND, OH PEP.
A FUN TIME BY ALL WAS EVIDENT.     'GOOGLE'  BARNSTORMERS CONCERTS
FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS VERY POPULAR ATTRACTION STARTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO BY THE BIEHL'S.    IT WILL ALSO TELL YOU MORE ABOUT THE FINAL SHOW OF  THE YEAR, ON OCTOBER 29TH.
