MAQUOKETA'S NEW DOWNTOWN FLAGS ARE FLYING THIS WEEKEND, FROM THE NEW  DOUBLE LIGHT POLES.    IMPRESSIVE.

ANDREW'S MEMORIAL DAY EVENT IS TODAY AND TOMORROW.   TODAY, THE
CAR AND TRACTOR SHOW AND LUNCH IN  THE PARK.   THE ANDREW LIONS
FEATURED A BEEF OR  HOT DOG LUNCH AND THE GARDEN CLUB HAD
HOME MADE PIES, SERVING OVER 125 SLICES.     THERE WILL BE A CHURCH SERVICE AND CEMETERY PROGRAM TOMORROW, AFTER AN AMVET
BREAKFAST OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

SALLY ROWAN, ANDREW CITY CLERK, A JOB SHE HAS HELD FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS IN THE HOME OF ANSIL BRIGGS, IOWA'S FIRST GOVERNOR.

FROM MAQUOKETA, GOT THE WINNING PLAQUE...FOR HER 86 MONTE CARLO

STEVE HUDRLIK OF ANDREW GOT THE PLAQUE FOR HIS CLASS "D" ENTRY,
THE LINCOLN TOWN CAR

WINNING PICKUP, THIS CHEVY IN THE  '50-'69 DIVISION.   ALL I SCRIBBLED DOWN WAS HIS INITIALS, V.S.    SORRY AGAIN

WINNER IN THE "C" CLASS, RICH CURRENT OF MAQUOKETA WITH HIS '67 DOGE RT

THIS SUPER 1954 MTA IS OWNED BY DERRY KUNDE OF ANDREW.    HE BOUGHT IT IN 1968 OR 69 AND IT WAS HIS FIRST FARM TRACTOR.
TRADED IT AND MUCH LATER WAS ABLE TO GET IT BACK AND RESTORE IT

ALL AGES WERE HAVING FUN IN THE DOWNTOWN PARK.    THE FIRST JACKSON COUNTY JAIL IS IN THE STONE BUILDING IN BACKGROUND...A
POPULAR TOURIST ATTRACTION.

ANDREW.    I HAVE RECEIVED MANY GIFTS OVER THE YEARS, BUT IN ALL
MY 59 YEARS AT KMAQ, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A GIFT  FROM A CITY.
MUCH APPRECIATED!!

LIONS ANNUAL SWEET CORN SALE.   LARRY McMURRAY, CHAIRMAN, SAYS
THE CORN IS PLANTED AND STARTING TO COME UP.    KMAQ WILL LET
EVERYONE KNOW WHEN THE CORN IS READY TO ENJOY.
