SPORTS:   IN THE MAQUOKETA INVITATIONAL AT THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB YESTERDAY, MAQUOKETA WON THE MEET WITH A 314.   DEWITT CAME IN SECOND WITH 316.   MEDALIST WAS CHANCE MEIERS OF
DYERSVILLE WITH A 73.   
TY THEDE OF MAQUOKETA CARDED AT 75.

HERE ARE TWO PHOTOS OF THE FEATURED CAR AT VINTAGE TORQUE FEST THIS YEAR IN MAQUOKETA, ON MAY 4TH AND 5TH.    IT'S A 1937 BONNEVILLE SALT RACER THAT WILL BE TRAILERED  TO MAQUOKETA FROM COLORADO.    THE CAR IS OWNED AND DRIVEN BY NANCY BULLOCK LOGWELL OF BOTH GOLDEN, COLORADO AND MAQUOKETA.    NANCY AND HER HUSBAND WARREN HAVE HOMES IN BOTH CITIES AND SPLIT THEIR TIME BETWEEN THEM.

TODAY, I GET AN EMAIL FROM JOHN WELLS WITH MORE "COOL STUFF" AS HE CALLS IT....ABOUT NEXT WEEKEND'S BIG EVENT IN MAQUOKETA, MAINLY AT
THE FAIRGROUNDS.    THIS IS THE 2ND YEAR IN A ROW IT WILL BE HELD IN MAQUOKETA, 1 WEEK LATER THAN LAST YEAR.    JOHN IS THE MAIN MAN
BEHIND IT!    HE SAID LAST YEAR, 335 CARS WERE PRE-REGISTERED AND THEY ENDED UP WITH 545 CARS, PLUS 100 MORE THAT WERE IN THE VP SECTION.  
HE SAID THIS YEAR, THERE COULD BE CLOSE TO 700 CARS PLUS THE
"CORONADO CAR CLUB'S" CLASSIC AND CHROME SECTION.

BIGGER AND BETTER THAN LAST YEAR!

THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME TO THE EVENT AND THE WEEKEND PASS IS $10.00
 WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE.  THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES.

SOMETHING NEW THIS YEAR, THE "CORONADO'S" ARE HAVE A PRE-TORQUE-FEST PARTY AND CAR SHOW WITH FOOD, BEVERAGES AND "LIVE MUSIC"....ON THURSDAY NIGHT IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA, OPEN TO ALL CARS.
THEY ALSO ARE HAVING A "CAVE CRUISE" OPEN TO ALL CARS FRIDAY.

THIS YEAR, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, THERE  WILL BE 16 BANDS, AN ART SHOW, SWAP MEET, LOTS OF VINTAGE HOT RODS, CUSTOMS AND CYCLES.
