SOME SNOW THIS MORNING...SUNSHINE LATE THIS AFTERNOON....HIGH TODAY, 36.

THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL WRESTLERS LOST BOTH OF THEIR TEAM MATCHUPS LAST NIGHT HERE IN TOWN. THE CARDINAL GRAPLERS WILL HOST A TOURNAMENT TOMORROW.

TONIGHT, THE GIRL'S BASKETBALL TEAM WILL HOST WATERLOO COLUMBUS AND THE BOYS WILL BE UP THERE. BOTH ARE WAMAC CONFERENCE GAMES.

ENROLLMENT WAS UP BY 23 STUDENTS THIS YEAR FOR THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, BUT LOOKING AHEAD, THERE WILL BE A DROP OF 42 NEXT YEAR, 33 IN 2008 AND 12 IN 2009...FOR A TOTAL OF 87 FEWER STUDENTS IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS.

TONY AND JENNY MCCALLISTER OF DEWITT ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN YESTERDAY AT A DAVENPORT HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE AL AND CINDY FIER OF MAQUOKETA AND DICK AND LEANN MCCALLISTER OF MAQUOKETA AND JULIE AND RICK GARIEN OF MAQUOKETA.

ROBERT AND AMY MITCHELL OF LAS VEGAS ARE PARENTS OF A GIRL BORN YESTERDAY IN LAS VEGAS. GRANDPARENTS ARE MAX AND DELORES MITCHELL OF MAQUOKETA.

LEROY GREEN, 75, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, DIED WEDNESDAY AT HIS HOME IN DAVENPORT.
HE FARMED SOUTH OF GRAND MOUND MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE IS SURVIVED BY A SON, RICHARD E. GREEN OF MAQUOKETA...AND A SON VERNON IN DEWITT.

ROBERT J. POOLE, 58, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED OF AN APPARENT HEART ATTACK ON JANUARY 7TH AND FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE PENDING AT CARSON AND SON IN MAQUOKETA.
