SUNNY AND 34 TODAY.      LIGHT SNOW IS BACK IN THE FORECAST BEFORE THE
WEEK IS OVER.

IN BASKETBALL:    THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS LOST THEIR TOURNAMENT GAME
LAST NIGHT AT DEWITT.   THE SABERS WON, 53 TO 45.   THEY ENDED THE SEASON
WITH A RECORD OF 9 AND 13.     KELSEY HOLMES LED THE CARDS IN SCORING
WITH 14 POINTS.    THE DEWITT GIRLS HAVE NOW WON 14 STRAIGHT AND RANKED 9TH IN THE STATE.

IN WRESTLING:    MAQUOKETA HAD 7 WRESTLE LAST NIGHT.    FOUR ARE STILL IN THE TOURNAMENT.  
WRESTLING TONIGHT:    MARCUS BREEDEN WHO WON YESTERDAY.
SHILO SYDER LOST YESTERDAY, THEN LATER WON HIS WRESTLEBACK AND
WRESTLES TONIGHT.
TIM O'CONNELL WON YESTERDAY AND LIKE MARCUS, IS IN THE QUARTER-FINALS
TONIGHT.
DAKOTA SNYDER LOST TWICE YESTERDAY AND IS OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.
RYAN FLAGEL ALSO LOST TWICE AND IS OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.
THOMAS MAYBERRY WON YESTERDAY AND ADVANCED TO TONIGHT'S
QUARTERFINALS.
COLTEN FELLER LOST TWICE YESTERDAY AND IS OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT.

THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS PLAN NO TAX RAISE NEXT YEAR.
THE TAX LEVY IS EXPECTED TO STAY THE SAME.     THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE BUDGET WILL BE TUESDAY, MARCH 9TH.

THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA   HAS APPROVED AN ENERGY AUDIT (COST OF $7,500)
FOR THE  YMCA.    IT IS HOPED THE AUDIT WILL RESULT IN WAYS TO
REDUCE THE ENGERY COSTS.     THE TOTAL BILLS FOR THE YMCA FOR 2008-09
WERE   $69,153 FOR NATURAL GAS AND $32,110 FOR ELECTRICITY.

I TALKED TO REGINA SAGERS THE OTHER NIGHT AT THE SHROVE-
TUESDAY SUPPER AT ST. MARK'S CHURCH.     SHE'S DOING WELL.  WILL BE 97 THIS  YEAR.   AND SHE SAID SHE  TALKS ALMOST WEEKLY TO VIRGINIA YOCUM WHO NOW LIVES IN COLORADO AND IS DOING FINE OUT THERE.   SHE TOO IS IN HER 90'S.
REGINA'S HUSBAND WAS A LONGTIME INSURANCE MAN IN MAQUOKETA  AND
VIRGINIA'S HUSBAND A LONGTIME HARDWARE STORE OWNER IN MAQUOKETA.
