NEAR 90 TODAY....
TOMORROW ABOVE 90....
IN LOW TO MID 80'S FRI AND SAT....

AFTER 18 YEARS, THE FORMER MICHEL'S TRUCK STOP "GROUNDS" GOT A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH FROM THE DNR.
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAVE NOT DISCUSSED WHETHER
THE LAND WILL BE SOLD. IT IS CURRENTLY BEING RENTED BY BRAD DEERY
MOTORS. THE BUILDING IS STILL STANDING, AND USED FOR STORAGE.

THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE D.O.T THAT THE TRAFFIC
LIGHTS AT HIGHWAY 61 AND PLATT MUST BE TURNED OFF AND BAGGED.
THEY ARE DOING THAT TODAY. THEY HAVE BEEN FLASHING YELLOW ON PLATT AND RED ON THE OFF RAMPS. THE D.O.T. TOLD THE CITY MANAGER THEY
HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS FROM RESIDENTS ABOUT THE CONFUSION ON THE
FLASHING LIGHTS. THE PLAN WON'T BE CHANGED. FROM NOW ON, MOTORISTS
WILL NOT STOP ON PLATT BUT DRIVERS WILL HAVE TO STOP AT THE OFF RAMPS.
POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA PROPOSED THE CHANGE EARLIER THIS YEAR
BECAUSE HE SAID THERE WERE TOO MANY TRAFFIC LIGHTS IN THE AREA.

RED HENTON TURNS 90 ON SEPTEMBER 3RD AND THERE IS GOING TO BE
A CELEBRATION. MORE DETAILS COMING.

THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY....PASS THE LEMONADE PLEASE!
