YOUTH TENNIS TOURNAMENT.....AUGUST 4TH AND 5TH AT THE VERY NICE
MAQUOKETA  HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS.    QUESTIONS, CALL CAROL
HAMMILL, DIRECTOR,  AT 563-212-1533.     THE LATE AL BURLINGAME WAS THE PASTOR AT ST. MARK'S CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA FOR MANY YEARS AND AN AVID TENNIS PLAYER.

THE BELLEVUE MARQUETTE GIRLS WON THEIR 3RD SOFTBALL GAME  LATE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, 13 TO 0 AND TOOK 7TH PLACE IN THE STATE IN CLASS 1A.      ONLY ONE SENIOR ON THE TEAM.
 MAX MOELLER MOVED FROM MAQUOKETA TO ARIZONA IN 1961 AND SAYS IN THE LATE 50'S HE DROVE HIS YELLOW 1955  STUDEBAKER IN THE FAIR
PARADE, WHILE HE WAS THEN IN THE AUTO TRIM BUSINESS.    HE SOLD AND INSTALLED A LOT OF SEAT BELTS IN USED AND NEW CARS BEFORE THEY
WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT.    ANYONE HAVE A PHOTO OF MAX IN THE PARADE WITH HIS  YELLOW STUDEBAKER?

THE INVESTIGATION INTO A THEFT AT ROSIE MILLER'S HOME IN MAQUOKETA AND THEFT OF HER VEHICLE ALSO, IS CONTINUING ACCORDING TO POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA.    MILLER REPORTED MONDAY JULY 14TH THAT SOMEONE HAD BROKEN INTO HER HOME AND TAKEN SOME ITEMS AND THEN STOLE HER CAR.    THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND IN JONES COUNTY.   TYLER TAYLOR IS BEING CHARGED IN JONES COUNTY.  

YESERDAY'S ATTENDANCE AT THE FAIR AS 2,168, DOWN ABOUT 500 FROM
THE FIRST DAY LAST YEAR.    TODAY IS KID'S DAY AND THE MAIN  ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT WILL BE THE STOCK CAR RACES.

DINNERS FOR JUST OVER $1?    REMEMBER AT THE FAIR WHEN THERE WAS
A "DANCING GIRLS" SHOW ON THE MIDWAY?    REMEMBER AT THE FAIR WHEN THE MAQUOKETA LIONS SOLD ALL THE TICKETS AT THE GATES?    REMEMBER AT THE FAIR WHEN THE OFFICE WAS ON THE ROOF OF THE
REST ROOM BUILDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE  FAIRGROUNDS?   
REMEMBER AT THE FAIR WHEN BINGO WAS PLAYED UNDER THE GRANDSTAND?     REMEMBER WHEN THE FAIR PARADE HAD HIGH SCHOOL BANDS MARCHING?
