WE HAVE TWO BIRTHS:

A BOY WAS BORN YESTERDAY TO LISA AND MATTHEW IRWIN OF MAQUOKETA....BORN AT THE NEW BETTENDORF HOSPITAL, TRINITY TERRACE PARK.    GRANDPARENTS ARE LOIS AND PAUL EADS OF MAQUOKETA  AND JOHN AND MARY IRWIN OF MAQUOKETA.
AND...
MEGAN BARRY AND BRAD RUPP OF DUBUQUE ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN
MONDAY AT FINLEY HOSPITAL IN DUBUQUE.     GRANDPARENTS ARE DWAYNE AND
CATHY RUPP OF MAQUOKETA.

THANKS FOR THE VISIT.

                                             TO THE LEFT IS DEAN ENGEL, REPRESENTING
                                             THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER.   DEAN IS A 
                                              LONGTIME EMPLOYEE OF THE MAQUOKETA
                                              STATE BANK.    HE IS PRESENTING THE 21ST
                                              ANNUAL FRIENDS OF AGRICULTURE FARMER
                                             OF THE YEAR AWARD TO DAVE AND BETTY
                                             SCHROEDER OF RURAL LAMOTTE.    THEY 
                                             RAN A DAIRY FARM FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND
                                             QUIT MILKING 2 YEARS AGO AND NOW RENT
                                             THE LAND.    THEY WERE COMPLETELY 
                                             SURPRISED WHEN THEIR NAME WAS GIVEN.
                                             THEY HAVE A FAMILY WEDDING IN AUGUST AND
                                             A TRIP TO THE HOLY LAND COMING UP.  
                                            A BIG TURNOUT FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE
                                            KMAQ FARM AND  HOME SHOW.    GREAT 
                                            SUNNY WEATHER IN THE 20'S.     THE FOOD 
                                            BAR SOLD NEARLY 600 HAMBURGERS OVER THE
                                            NOON HOUR,  A FIRST DAY NOON HOUR RECORD.
                                            THE FREE SHOW AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN 
                                            MAQUOKETA CONTINUES UNTIL 7:30 TONIGHT AND
                                            FROM 10:30 A.M.  UNTIL 7:30 P.M. TOMORROW.
