MONDAY DAILY

MARV FRANZEN, AGE 76, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS DRIVING HIS TRACTOR, PULLING
A WAGON, AROUND 11 SATURDAY NIGHT, WHEN HIS TRACTOR LEFT THE GRAVEL
ROAD AND OVERTURNED.     FOR  YEARS, HE HAS BEEN GIVING PEOPLE RIDES
TO THE CODFISH HOLLOW BARN FROM THE PARKING LOT ON THE HILL.   AND
RETURNING THEM AFTER THE SHOW.     SHERIFF DEPUTIES WERE DISPATCHED
AND MARV WAS TAKEN WITH SERIOUS INJURIES TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS.
THERE WERE 3 ON THE WAGON AND ONE OF 3 HAD JUMPED ON THE WAGON WHILE IT WAS MOVING, CAUSING MARV TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND DURING THIS TIME, THE TRACTOR ENTERED THE DEEP DITCH AND OVERTURNED.    THE 3
HAD MINOR INJURIES.    THE MAN FROM GUTTENBERG WAS ASKED TO STAND IN
FRONT OF A DEPUTY CAR FOR A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST AND HE REFUSED COMMANDS AND STARTED SWEARING AT THE DEPUTIES.     HE WAS THEN
TAKEN TO JAIL AND THERE BLEW A BREATH TEST OF .213 AND HE WAS ARRESTED.
MARV HAD INJURIES TO HIS ARM AND PELVIS AND WITH SOME SURGERY IS
EXPECTED TO FULLY RECOVER.    THE NEXT CONCERT IS LATER THIS MONTH.
