ANOTHER NICE WARM DAY TODAY. BUT, COLDER WEATHER BEGINS TOMORROW.

THE CITY COUNCIL THIS WEEK HAS GIVEN A COMPANY UNTIL TOMORROW TO COMPLETE PAVING ON THOMAS AVENUE OR PAY $500 A DAY PENALTY.
THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED THANKS TO GOOD WEATHER THIS WEEK. MANY STREET CUTS WERE MADE THIS SUMMER FOR SEWER HOOKUPS AND THE STREET THEREFORD NEEDED TO BE PAVED.

THE MAQUOKETA RIVER TRAIL IS NOT COMPLETED AND THE DATE FOR COMPLETION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL NOV 27TH.

THE VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM FOR MAQUOKETA WILL BE AT 8:45 TOMORROW MORNING AT THE MAQUOKETA MIDDLE SCHOOL. LEGION
MEMBER CLIFF MERRICK WILL GIVE THE ADDRESS. THE MAQUOKETA VFW POST AND ANDREW AMVETS WILL JOIN THE LEGION TO PRESENT THE PROGRAM.

NEXT TIME YOU VISIT BRANSON, TRY TO STOP AT BILLY BOB'S DAIRY LAND FOR THE BEST HAMBURGERS IN BRANSON. LOCATED ON WEST STATE STREET, JUST OFF HWY 76 AND OWNED AND OPERATED BY DON AND NANCY GIBSON. NICE COUPLE. GOOD HAMBUGERS! I HAD ONE LAST WEEK. JUST A LITTLE PLACE.

THE FFA AND FFA ALUMNI CHILI SUPPER IS TONIGHT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL...LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
ALSO, PLANNING TO ATTEND THE ANNUAL CATTLMEN'S BEEF BANQUET THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.

THE VOY 3 THEATRE LOBBY IS DECORATED FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE NEW SANTA CLAUS MOVIE IS ENTERTAINING ALL AGES.

THIRTY SEVEN YEARS AGO TODAY, I WAS CELEBRATING....MY ONE AND ONLY ELECTION VICTORY. I DEFEATED MAQUOKETA LONGTIME BUSINESSMAN BEN JACOBSEN FOR THE OFFICE OF MAQUOKETA MAYOR.
MY SLOGAN WAS "MAKE MAQUOKETA MOVE" AND BEN'S WAS "DON'T SEND A VOY TO DO A MAN'S JOB". I SERVED OUT MY TWO YEAR TERM AND THEN WAS TOO BUSY TO SEEK RE-ELECTION.

AND SO IT GOES....TIME FLIES.
