MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY...NO SNOW..HIGH OF 27. THREE TO FIVE INCHES OF
SNOW IN FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. LITTLE OR NO SNOW
CHRISTMAS EVE OR CHRISTMAS DAY.

A MAQUOKETA RESIDENT WAS HIT WHILE CROSSING A STREET IN MAQUOKETA
AROUND 6:45 LAST NIGHT. ZACHARY CARR WAS CROSSING THE STREET AT THE
INTERSECTION OF MAIN AND PLEASANT WHEN HE WAS STRUCK BY A GREEN
CAR DRIVEN BY A MAN. THE DRIVER STOPPED LONG ENOUGH TO ASK IF HE WAS OKAY AND THEN LEFT THE SCENE. CARR WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT THE HOSPITAL IN MAQUOKETA BY HIS MOTHER, WHERE HE WAS
EXAMINED.

THE CITY OF BELLEVUE HAS A JOB OPEN TO REPLACE THE A SANITATION AND
PARKS WORKER WHO IS RETIRING. THERE WERE 24 APPLICATIONS FOR
THE JOB. CITY ADMINISTRATOR LORAS HERRIG CALLED IT A REFLECTION
OF THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY.

JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISOR STEVE FLYNN CELEBRATES HIS BIRTHDAY
CHRISTMAS DAY.
