MONDAY DAILY REPORT

THE BARN TOUR WAS HELD THIS WEEKEND.   I TRY TO VISIT A DIFFERENT
ONE EACH YEAR.    THIS ONE ON 450TH AVENUE, RURAL PRESTON, IS OWNED
BY STEVE AND DORIS TRENKAMP.    GO EAST OUT OF PRESTON, AND
45TH AVENUE IS THE FIRST PAVED ROAD ON THE RIGHT AND THE
TRENKAMP FARM IS A HALF-MILE ON THE ROAD, PAST THE CEMETERY
WITH NO NAME ON IT.  THE BARN WAS BUILDT IN 1926 AND LOOKS GOOD FOR
BEING 90 YEARS OLD.  METAL ROOF REPLACED THE OLD A FEW YEARS AGO
AND THE UPPER PART OF BARN IS BIG AND EMPTY.    DORIS HAS FLOWERS
ALL OVER THE  YARD....A PRETTY FARM.    AND JUST OVER THE HILL
TO THE SOUTH...THIS SIGN ALONG THE ROAD.....

DRIVE A SHORT GRAVEL ROAD, AND THERE IS DALTON POND....
GOOD LITTLE FISHING POND.

WE THEN LEFT 450TH AVENUE AND HEADED FOR THE ANDREW PARK AND THE ANDREW LIONS ANNUAL CHILI COOKOFF.     IT GETS BIGGER EVERY YEAR.    THE WINNERS OF THE CHILI COOK-OFF WERE AGAIN JERRY
McMURRAY AND ROGER MICHELS.    THE PIE CONTEST:   1ST PLACE TO LINDA DRAKE, 2ND PLACE TO ALVELDA BAHR AND 3RD PLACE TO LINDA DUHME.
I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A PIE CONTEST.     BUT I DID PARTICIPATE IN
THE CHILE JUDGING.    I SAMPLED 6 KINDS, VOTED FOR CHILI MARKED #5.....HAD A HOTDOG AND A PIECE OF HOMEMADE BERRY PIE AFTER.

FROM ANDREW, TO ST. DONATUS..... AND THE ANNUAL JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS "HALL OF FAME" DINNER AT KALMES RESTAURANT.
AFTER ONE OF WINDY'S RIBEYE STEAKS OFF HIS BIG OUTSIDE GRILL,
