IN THE MID TO LATE 70'S.    REMEMBER HER IN THE MOVIE "ANNIE"?

SHERI MELVOLD, WITH OTHER HALF,  KMAQ TECH MASTER, TOM MESSERLI, DID HER FINAL "JUST TALK" SHOW THIS MORNING.    TOM CONDUCTED THE FINAL SHOW AND INTERVIEWED HER.    THIS WAS A SECOND RETIREMENT.    SHE STARTED AT KMAQ 24 YEARS AGO, RETIRED FROM FULL TIME WORK ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO, THEN CAME BACK TO DO ONLY THE "JUST TALK" SHOW.     NOT SURE I GOT THIS EXACT, BUT ANYWAY,  SHE DID GREAT JOB AND WE WILL MISS HERE.   BELOW ON HER LAP IS ONE REASON FOR RETIREMENT.......

SHE HAS TWO GRANDCHILDREN.   THIS LITTLE GUY IS THE OLDEST.    FATHER IS
TIM MELVOLD,  A KMAQ STUDENT ANNOUNCER ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO 
AND LONGTIME EMPLOYEE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE.
HAPPY RETIREMENT SHERI!     WE WILL SHORTEN THE SHOW TO HALF-HOUR AND I WILL HOST IT, WITH TELEPHONE GUESTS AND DAILY LISTENER PHONE CALLS IF TIME PERMITS AND IF NO GUEST AT ALL.

AROUND THREE-PLUS INCHES OF SNOW OVERNIGHT AND STILL SNOWING AT 9 A.M. 
FLURRIES MAY CONTINUE ON AND OFF TODAY.    SNOW ENDING TONIGHT FOR SURE.   BACK- DECK PHOTO BELOW.....
TWO BOYS PLAYING IN THE SNOW THIS MORNING....XANDER AND CASH,  SONS OF
ANGELA AND JOSH O'CONNOR.


LAST NIGHT, THE CARDINAL BOYS BEAT
CENTER POINT URBANA AND ARE NOW 2 AND 1.     HERE IN TOWN, THE MAQUOKETA
GIRLS LOST TO CENTER POINT URBANA.
 

AT EXTREME SOUTH EDGE OFF LONGVIEW ADDITION, OFF WEST SUMMIT


PASTOR JUDY HEINRICH OF FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA RETIRES
AT THE END OF THIS MONTH.    SHE HAS SERVED THE CONGREGATION FOR 14 YEARS.
SHE WILL BE HONORED VIA FACEBOOK AND ON KMAQ DURING THE 9 A.M. SERVICE
ON  DECEMBER 20TH.    THE BISHOP WILL BE HERE TO PREACH THE SERMON AND 
AT 10, THERE WILL BE A RETIREMENT PROGRAM ON FACEBOOK AND ON KMAQ AND THAT WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A HAPPPY RETIREMENT AND APPRECIATION CAR
PARADE BEGINNING IN THE PARKING LOT AT 10:30.     PASTOR HEINRICH WAS BAPTISED AND LATER CONFIRMED AT FIRST LUTHERAN.      HER LATE PARENTS WERE
VERY ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION.   HER SON JOSEPH LIVES IN
DES MOINES AND DAUGHTER KAT AND HUSBAND RESIDE IN EAST MOLINE.
SHE HAS A GRANDSON AND TWO BROTHERS, PAUL AND JOE HEINRICH.


THIS IS JUST ONE...THERE ARE TWO SIDE-BY-SIDE DECORATED HOUSES.... ON THE CORNER ....SOUTH OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF HOSPITAL.    YOU CAN'T MISS THEM.
DEFINITELY TAKE A LOOK.

FRIDAY DAILY

 


THE HOME WAS  HERE MONDAY.    ON EAST QUARRY, JUST A BLOCK EAST OF
MAIN.  AND ITS DAYS WERE NUMBERED.
TODAY, THE GRAVEL SHOWS WHERE IT WAS.     SOON, IT WILL BE A PARKING LOT FOR
OHNWARD BANK SHARES.



MAQUOKETA'S OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREE...IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GREEN SPACE.
THAT IS THE MITCHELL-MASKREY MILL BEHIND IT, SOON TO BE REMODELED.
