SATURDAY DAILY

THE NEW SAVANNA-SABULA BRIDGE OPENEND TO TRAFFIC YESTERDAY
AFTERNOON.   TOP PHOTO, THE NEW IN BLUE AND THE OLD IN THE BACKGROUND.    ABOVE PHOTO, NEW BRIDGE AT LEFT AND OLD AT RIGHT.


THE NEW CHRISTMAS SNOWFLAKES IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOEKTA.



IT WAS "DOLLAR DAY" TODAY AT THE GOODWILL STORE DOWTOWN.   THIS
WAS THE LINE WAITING TO GET IN WHEN THE DOORS OPENED AT 9.   THE
PARKING LOT WAS FULL FOR HOURS.

GOOD TURN OUT AT 1 THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE "RIBBON CUTTING" CEREMONY AT THE PAVILION AT PRAIRIE CREEK.    WITH FREE 
REFRESHMENTS, AND A BLAZING FIREPLACE..... AROUND 75 PEOPLE WERE ON HAND TO ADMIRE THE NEW BUILDING.  NO ACTUAL RIBBON TO CUT,
BUT A NICE PROGRAM WAS PRESENTED INSIDE.
JESSICA WAGNER, FROM THE CONSERVATION OFFICE, EMCEE.
CHRIS CORNELIUS, MEMBER OF FRIENDS OF JACKSON COUNTY
CONSERVATION.
EMILY HIGHWRM, NATURALIST FROM JACKSON COUNTY CONSERVATION,
AND WORKING HER LAST DAY AFTER 2 1/2 YEARS HERE.  TAKING
SIMILIAR JOB AT PRAIRIE Du SHIEN, WISCONSIN.
KATHIE ATKINSON, ALSO MEMBER OF THE FRIENDS GROUP.
AND..... LAST TO MAKE COMMENTS, DARREL PARKER, DIRECTOR FOR  OVER
20 YEARS OF JACKSON COUNTY CONSERVATION.
LOOKING EAST OUT OF THE PAVILION.  
THIS IS THE OUTDOOR PATIO OVERLOOKING  THE AREA IN PHOTO ABOVE.
THERE ARE 9 PICNIC TABLES, SO THERE WILL BE SEATING FOR AROUND 75 ...THESE 3 AND 6 INSIDE INSIDE.   ROOM TO  MOVE THESE 3 INSIDE IF
NEEDED.   ALL 9  TABLES MADE AND DONATED BY NICK MEYER OF
MAQUOKETA.
