MAQUOKETA GOT 3 INCHES OF SNOW OVER THE WEEKEND AND 5-INCHES SO FAR THIS MONTH.

IT WAS 4-BELOW THIS MORNING AND MORE OF THE SAME IS COMING ALL THIS WEEK.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS LOST BY 1 POINT FRIDAY NIGHT AND THEIR RECORD IS NOW 0 AND 2.

THE GIRLS ALSO LOST FRIDAY NIGHT...AND THE WRESTLERS FINISHED 6TH IN THE INDEPENDENCE
TOURNAMENT SATURDAY.

FORMER MAQUOKETA AND IOWA STATE GRAD, QUARTERBACK SAGE ROSENFELS GUIDED THE MIAMI DOLPHINS TO A 24 TO 23 COME FROM BEHIND WIN OVER THE BUFFALO BILLS YESTERDAY IN MIAMI. HE THREW A PASS WITH 6 SECONDS LEFT TO SCORE THE WINNING TOUCHDOWN. IT WAS THE LAST OF 3 TOUCHDOWNS SCORED IN THE FINAL 11 MINUTES OF THE GAME AND SAGE DIRECTED ALL 3 TOUCHDOWN DRIVES.
A GREAT DAY FOR SAGE AFTER HE REPLACED THE REGULAR QUARTERBACK. SIXTY THOUSAND FANS ATTENDED THE GAME, BUT ONLY TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND STAYED TO SEE THE BIG WIN.

A MILES, IOWA MAN (MERVIN HANSON, JR., AGE 37) WAS KILLED AND SIX OTHERS INJURED IN A NEARLYH HEAD-ON ACCIDENT LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON JUST SOUTH OF MILES.

RICHARD ALLEN, 36, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS IN A BAD ACCIDENT LAST WEDNESDAY MORNING. NO CONDITION REPORT AVAILABLE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 61 AND HIS CAR RECEIVED NEARLY $10,000 IN DAMAGES AND A GAURDRAIL HE HIT RECEIVED $3,500 IN DAMAGES.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT.

ABOUT 1,000 SAW THE PRODUCTION OF THE "NUTCRACKER" SATURDAY AT THE NEW OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER.....AN AFTERNOON AND EVENING PEFORMANCE, WITH NET PROCEEDS GOING TO SUNSHINE PRE-SCHOOL AND DAYCARE. DIDN'T SEE IT, BUT HEAR IT WAS A GREAT SHOW.

AND YESTERDAY, A BRANSON COUNTRY SHOW WAS HELD AT ONHWARD, AGAIN AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND GOOD TURNOUT FOR IT AND I'M TOLD, AN EXCELLENT SHOW.

THE OHNWARD CENTER IS GETTING LOTS OF SHOWS AND GOOD COMMENTS ON THEM. A GREAT ADDITION TO OUR TOWN. ITS SEATS AROUND 840.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
