PARTY SUNNY DAY TODAY, A HIGH OF 78.

THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HAVE AGREED TO JOIN A NEW
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GROUP INVOLVING OTHER COUNTIES. THIS MORNING, THE SUPERVISORS APPROVED A RESOLUTION TO BECOME PART OF A NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GROUP CALLED EASTERN IOWA DEVEOPMENT ALLIANCE. IT WILL INCLUDE THE COUNTIES OF CEDAR, MUSCATINE, SCOTT, CLINTON AND JACKSON.
THE GROUP WILL BE OVERSEEN BY EASTERN IOWA COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND THE QUAD CITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP. THE NEW GROUP WILL APPLY FOR A $75,000 GRANT WHICH WOULD NEED TO BE MATCHED. JACKSON COUNTY'S MAXIMUM MATCH WOULD BE $2,606. IF THE COUNTIES ALL JOIN, THEY COULD HAVE $112,000 AS A BUDGET. THE GROUP HOPES TO HAVE THEIR OWN WEB SITE. STACY DRISCOLL, MAQUOKETA CHAMBER DIRECTOR AND MAQUOKETA CITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, WILL ALSO BE THE REPRESENTATIVE OF JACKSON COUNTY TO THE NEW GROUP.

ON THE MAQUOKETA POLICE BLOTTER: HARVEY EHLERS OF LISA DRIVE REPORTED THAT A TOOL BOX WAS TAKEN FROM HIS TRUCK.
MIKE WING OF NORTH 5TH STREET, REPORTED THAT A NAIL GUN WAS STOLEN FROM HIS GARAGE.
BRAD HANSEN OF WEST MONROE STREET, REPORTED THAT A MARINE RADIO WAS TAKEN FROM HIS TRUCK.
AND MIKE SMITH REPORTED HIS CD PLAYER WAS MISSING FROM HIS CAR WHEN PARKED ON SOUTH MAIN STREET MONDAY.

HERE'S A CORRECTION ON A STORY I HAD YESTERDAY REGARDING THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS. THE SUPERVISOR, THE COUNTY, HAS RECEIVED ONE TRAILER BACK (FROM UNPAID TAXES) IN A MOBIL HOME PARK ON EAST PLATT STREET. AND THE COUNTY PLANS TO DEMOLISH THAT ONE MOBIL HOME TRAILER FOR SCRAP.

THANKS FOR THE VISIT.
