84 TODAY....WILL BE STAYING IN THE 80'S FOR THE NEXT 3 DAYS AT LEAST.

THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS SAID THEY ARE INTERESTED IN THE OLD POOL SITE OWNED BY THE CITY, ACROSS THE
STREET FROM  GOODENOW FIELD AND NEXT TO THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CENTER.    THE BOARD MET THIS WEEK.
BOARD PRESIDENT BRIAN TABOR SAID HE ASKED FOR THE ITEM TO BE
PUT BEFORE THE BOARD AS THE CITY IS AGAIN TALKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING WITH THE LOTS WHERE THE POOLS STOOD.    THE AREA HAS
BEEN CLEARED OF THE POOLS, TENNIS COURT AND BATHHOUSE AND
HAS BEEN GRADED.   A LOCAL DEVELOPER, KEN MOORE, HAS SAID HE MAY BE INTERESTED IN THE SITE FOR TOWNHOMES.    THE SCHOOL BOARD
COULD BUY AND  USE THE SITE FOR PARKING DURING BALL GAMES AT THE FIELD ACROSS THE STREET, OWNED BY THE DISTRICT.   OTHER USES
WERE DISCUSSED, INCLUDING POSSIBLE GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL SOME DAY.    SUPT. HUCKSTADT ALSO SAID THE SCHOOL BOARD MIGHT CONSIDER BUYING THE COMMUNITY CENTER AND MENTIONED POSSIBLE USES AFTER NEEDED REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS.
SO....GUESS WE'LL BE HEARING MORE ABOUT THIS IN THE WEEKS TO
COME.

END OF TODAY'S SHORT REPORT.

KEEP COOL...PRAY FOR SOME RAIN.
