A LOW THIS MORNING OF 8 AND A HIGH TODAY, UNDER SUNNY SKIES, 33.

WE HAVE HAD A GOOD TURNOUT FOR THE KMAQ FARM AND HOME SHOW TODAY.
A LONG LINE FOR THE NOON LUNCH, BUT EVERYONE ATE AND ENJOYED THE
1/3 POUND PORKBURGERS OF THE BIG OUTSIDE GRILL OF THE JACKSON COUNTY PORK PRODUCERS.

THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB AND MAQUOKETA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESENTED THEIR "FRIENDS OF AGRICULTURE" AWARDS DURING THE NOON
HOUR IN THE PEARSON CENTER AT THE FARM SHOW ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.
THE AGRI-BUSINESS AWARD WENT TO DOUG AND RUTH ANN SCOTT, WHO HAVE
A "TRUCK" FARM AT RURAL MONMOUTH. THE AGRI-PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD WAS AWARDED TO JACKSON COUNTY VETERINARIAN, DR. ROB DEEGAN. AND
THE FARMER OF THE YEAR WENT TO ALBET "BUD" KNAKE AND HIS WIFE LILLIAN OF RURAL BELLEVUE.

TOMORROW IS THE 2ND BIG DAY OF THE FARM AND HOME SHOW AND TOMORROW
IS "BEEF DAY"....FROM 10:30 A.M. UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE SHOW AT 7:30 P.M.
