SUNNY AFTERNOON, BUT HIGH OF ONLY 38.

THREE WINNERS HAVE BEEN SELECTED FROM THE FESTIVAL OF TREES AT
OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER. THERE ARE 36 TREES AND 20 WREATHS.
THEY ARE ALL BEING SOLD BY SILENT AUCTION. JUDGES SELECTED MEDICAL ASSOCIATES AS THE WINNER IN THE LARGE TREE CATEGORY.
JACKSON COUNTY FARM BUREA WON THE SMALL TREE CATEGORY.
OLD LUMBER YARD GIFTS AND HOME DECOR WON THE WREATH CATEGORY.
THE JUDGES CHOICE FOR HONORABLE MENTION WENT TO DAC, INC.
THE TREES MAY BE VIEWED FROM 9 A.M. UNTIL 7 P.M MONDAY THROUGH
FRIDAY AND 1 UNTIL 7 P.M. ON WEEKENDS. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD
IS THE LAST DAY. THE FESTIVAL IS A FUND RAISER FOR THE OHNWARD
FINE ARTS CENTER.

THE ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER WILL BE AT NOON THANKSGIVING
DAY AT THE JACKSON COUNTY SENIOR CENTER. A BIG TURKEY DINNER
WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS. CARRYOUT AND DELIVERY ALSO OFFERED.
FOR HOME DELIVERY OR TO VOLUNTEER...CALL 652-5318. THE MEAL IS FREE TO ANYONE BUT A DONATION IS SUGGESTED.

THE JACKSON COUNTY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER WILL HOST AN OPEN HOUSE FROM 1 UNTIL 3 THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR SELF-GUIDED TOURS OF THE
NEW REMODELED AND ENLARGED REHABILITAION SERVICES AREA, FORMALLY
THE EXTENDED CARE FOR SENIORS SECTION OF THE HOSPITAL.

JUDGE J. HOBART DARBYSHIRE WILL BE RETIRING AT THE END OF THE
YEAR. HE IS A JUDGE IN THE 7TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT, WHICH INCLUDES
MAQUOKETA. HE WAS FIRST APPOINTED IN 1979 AND SERVED UNTIL 1985 AND
WAS AGAIN APPOINTED IN 1995.

THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL GIRL'S BASKETBALL SEASON GETS UNDERWAY NEXT TUESDAY NIGHT WHEN THE GIRLS HOST CLEAR CREEK AMANA.
THE BOYS OPEN THE SEASON ALSO AT HOME, HOSTING VINTON SHELLSBURG
ON TUESDAY NIGHT, NOVEMBER 30TH.

KMAQ LISTENERS ARE AGAIN HAVING FUN TRYING TO SHOOT A THANKSGIVING
TURKEY IN THE ANNUAL KMAQ OLD-TIME TURKEY SHOOT, THAT STARTED ON THE
STATION OVER 50 YEARS AGO. SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE SHOT A TURKEY IN
ONE OF THE 6 CAGES IN THE PAST. OR, YOU MIGHT REMEMBER YOU WERE A POOR SHOT AND HIT A DIFFERENT ANIMAL. THE GOOD-AIM TURKEY WINNERS SO FAR HAVE BEEN: DIANE GRAVES, DONNA DAVENPORT AND EDGAR TURNEY ALL OF MAQUOKETA AND DAVID EHLERS OF ANDREW.
