NICE SPRING DAY .. SUNNY AND HIGH OF 75.

WHEN KMAQ WENT ON THE AIR, GASOLENE WAS 29.9 CENTS A GALLON. TODAY,
IT IS ABOUT $3.65.9 A GALLON. I BOUGHT MY GAS THEN AT THE ZEPHYR STATION ON SOUTH MAIN, OWNED AND OPERATED BY DWIGHT DARNELL. HE WAS MY ADVERTISING ACCOUNT, AND RAN SPOTS EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR. THE CAR I HAD THEN WAS A 1954 DESOTA. THE ZEPHYR STATION, BY THE WAY, IS STILL OPEN , OWNED BY SPAIN OIL.

PROM PARTICIPANTS WERE THEN BUSED WITH 5 COACHES TO THE SITE OF THE PROM, THE GRAND HARBOR AT DUBUQUE. THE JUNIOR CLASS KING AND QUEEN WERE DYLON O'CONNELL AND HANNA THORSON.
