HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ATTENDED THE ANNUAL MEETING LAST NIGHT OF THE
JACKSON COUNTY CATTLEMEN.     A STEAK DINNER, AWARDS, AND
ENTERTAINMENT BY HYPNOTIST JIM WAND OF DUBUQUE, MADE FOR A GOOD NIGHT.
I TOOK MY DIGITAL CAMERA  AND HAVE A FEW PHOTOS FOR YOU.      SHOWN
HERE,  HOLDING  HIS PLAQUE,   LONGTIME MAQUOKETA VETERINARIAN DON YANDA.    DR. YANDA IS NO LONGER PRACTICING, BUT INSTEAD,  A FEW YEARS
AGO STARTED AN AG BUSINESS IN A BUILDING HE BUILDT IN THE
MAQUOKETA INDUSTRIAL PARK.      THE AWARD HE RECEIVED WAS THE
2009 CATTLEMEN'S HALL OF FAME AWARD, AND IT WAS PRESENTED BY
MARK ANDERSON,  A MEMBER OF THE CATTLEMEN'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE JACKSON COUNTY CATTLEMEN HONORED THEISEN'S STORE IN
MAQUOKETA WITH THE 2009 BUSINESS ASSOCIATE AWARD.     IT WAS
PRESENTED BY THE ASSOCIATION VICE-PRESIDENT, CATTLEMAN BEN SHEARER.
ACCEPTING THE AWARD WAS THE MANAGER OF THEISEN'S MAQUOKETA  STORE, ROBIN CLARK OF MAQUOKETA.     THEISEN'S HAVE NEARLY 20 STORES IN IOWA, WITH HEADQUARTERS IN DUBUQUE.

AT THE BANQUET LAST NIGHT, THE 2009 BEEF BACKER AWARD WENT TO
MARK AND DAWN ZEIMET, OWNERS OF DAWN'S DINER ON EAST PLATT IN
MAQUOKETA, A POPULAR FAMILY RESTAURANT.

FROM MAQUOKETA, ROSS RIVER, PRESENTED THE TWO 2009 OUTSTANDING
YOUNG FARMER AWARDS TO MOLLY DAVISON AND RYAN KILBURG.

THE JACKSON COUNTY CATTLEMEN'S ANNUAL BANQUET WAS HELD LAST
NIGHT AT THE PEARSON CENTER ON THE FAIRGROUNDS IN MAQUOKETA.
THE EMCEE WAS THE CATTLEMEN'S PRESIDENT, JOHN STENDER.    THESE FOUR
YOUNG STUDENTS WILL HELP PROMOTE BEEF DURING THE YEAR AHEAD:
LEFT TO RIGHT:     2010 JUNIOR BEEF AMBASSADOR, JOHN JACOBS....
BEEF PRINCESS, NICOLE GRUHN......BEEF QUEEN,  ERIN MOELLER......AND SENIOR
BEEF AMBASSADOR, NICK KILBURG.    EVERYONE ENJOYED A RIB-EYE STEAK
DINNER BEFORE THE PROGRAM.
