GOT DOWN TO 22 LAST NIGHT. GOING TO BE WET AND COLD TOMORROW FOR
VETERAN'S DAY.
MAQUOKETA'S VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM WILL BE AT 8:45 TOMORROW MORNING
AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL GYM. THE 8TH GRADE BAND WILL PLAY AND THE 8TH GRADE CHORUS WILL SING. THE VETERAN'S DAY ADDRESS WILL BE GIVEN BY IOWA STATE SENATOR ROGER STEWART. IN DELMAR, THE PROGRAM WILL BE AT 10:30 IN THE SCHOOL GYM AND BOB OSTERHAUS WILL BE THE GUEST SPEAKER.
MAQUOKETA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS. OFFICERS SAY CHARGES ARE PENDING IN AN INCIDENT LAST FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT 4:53 P.M. AT THE MAQUOKETA MIDDLE SCHOOL. THERE WERE NINE STUDENTS IN A FIGHT.
NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED.
AND MEGAN BALLIU OF N. MATTESON IN MAQUOKETA REPORTED TO POLICE SUNDAY AFTERNOON THAT A TOOL BOX WAS TAKEN FROM THEIR SHED.
MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT. ONE OF THE AGENDA
ITEMS IS THE HIRING OF FORMER LONGTIME COACH DENNIS STREETS AS THE ASSISTANT VARSITY BASKETBALL COACH.
HOW ABOUT THE LAST SECOND IOWA WIN SATURDAY OVER #3 PENN STATE?
THE FESTIVAL OF TREE OPENS THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER IN MAQUOKETA. THE TREES WILL BE ON DISPLAY THROUGH NOVEMBER 25TH FROM 1 UNTIL 7 P.M. DAILY INCLUDING WEEKENDS. NO ADMISSION. KMAQ WILL HAVE A TREE THERE THIS YEAR.

CHRISTMAS 2008 FOR KMAQ SALES DEPARTMENT STARTED YESTERDAY. HERE, 3 OF OUR 4 SALESWOMEN HAD A TABLE AT THE HOLIDAY EXPO AT DEWITT FROM 11 A.M. UNTIL 2 P.M. DOTTIE BAYLES AT LEFT, ROXANNE CLAUSING IN MIDDLE AND
DENISE KIRK AT RIGHT. LOIS FISCHER COULDN'T MAKE IT. THEY HAD A GOOD TURNOUT. KMAQ IS A DEWITT CHAMBER MEMBER AND HAS HAD A TABLE AT THIS ANNUAL EVENT FOR MANY YEARS. WE HAD A DRAWING FOR A $50 BILL IN HONOR OF OUR 50TH BIRTHDAY AND ALSO GAVE AWAY A HOLIDAY CENTERPIECE.
