WINDY AND COLD TODAY AGAIN.

DOWN INTO THE LOW 20'S TONIGHT.

THE WIND WILL LEAVE US TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND FORECAST SOUNDS
PRETTY GOOD.

DR. BROMAN DIED LAST NIGHT! A FINE DOCTOR AND MAQUOKETA
SUPPORTER AND BACKER FOR MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE STARTED SEEING PATIENTS IN MAQUOKETA BACK IN 1948. HE WENT ON TO SERVE IN THE KOREAN WAR IN 1953 AND 1954 AND THEN CAME BACK TO MAQUOKETA IN 1955. HE WAS JOINED BY DR. BROWN TO FORM THE BROMAN AND BROWN MEDICAL CLINIC. HE WAS A SURGEON TOO. HE ALSO MADE HOUSE CALLS WHEN NECESSARY IN THOSE EARLY YEARS. HE SERVED MANY YEARS ON THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD.
HE WAS ON THE SIDELINES YEAR AFTER YEAR AT MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL
FOOTBALL GAMES, AS BOTH A DOCTOR IF NEEDED AND FAN. IN FACT, HE ATTENDED A GAME EARLIER THIS MONTH. HE TURNED 90 LAST WEEK. A STROKE SEVERAL YEARS AGO SLOWED HIM DOWN AND THOUGH HIS MIND WAS GOOD, THE STROKE EFFECTED HIS ABILITY TO WALK EASILY AND SPEAK CLEARLY. HE GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN AND HAD A LOT OF FUN WITH LOCAL HAWKEYE FANS OVER THE YEARS WHENEVER IOWA AND MICHIGAN PLAYED EACH OTHER IN FOOTBALL, AND WHEN MICHIGAN WON. HE WAS MY DOCTOR FOR A LONG TIME AND I SAW HIM ALMOST WEEKLY AT MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB MEETINGS AND IN CHURCH. SERVICES ARE PENDING AT CARSON AND SON FUNERAL HOME. HIS FULL OBITUARY SHOULD BE ON THE CARSON WEB SITE SOON AND WILL TELL YOU MUCH MORE ABOUT THIS GREAT CITIZEN AND FAMILY MAN. THE DOCTOR IS IN......IN HEAVEN.

IN TOURNAMENT HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL, MAQUKETA (WINNERS OVER DEWITT MONDAY NIGHT) WILL HOST 6TH RANKED DUBUQUE WAHLERT TONIGHT AT 7.

MANY OF YOU ARE USING YOUR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP TO LISTEN TO KMAQ. LAST NIGHT, OVER 50 HOMES HAD THE FOOTBALL GAME ON, VIA THE WORLD WIDE WEB. WOULD BE FUN TO KNOW WHERE THEY ALL LIVED.

KEEP WARM.
